The Witcher 3 Official thread

G2A sells legitimate keys in trade with vendors, then they have brokered keys by third-parties. G2A themselves has an paid by the buyer policy, G2A Shield, to provide additional protection against ‘problematic’ brokered keys, it is the very same principle when you are trying to sell your own digital goods/accounts. I'm quite sure the G2A deal in mention is in partnership with GOG.

No, a gog rep said that there are no authorized gog key resellers (link).

I know the keys sold by G2a are legitimate. If you live in Bulgaria which falls under EU pricing but has like 300 Euro monthly average income, then by all means buy the key on g2a/kinguin/gmg. Same goes for South Africa, the video game prices in SA are very high compared to the average income. Those keys are intended for you, no harm done. I however cannot justify buying those keys if I live in a country whose average wage is 5-10 times higher than the countries those keys were intended for.

Anyway sorry for derail, let's get back to discussing witcher 3.

Get someone with a CD drive to build an .ISO from your disc for you? copy the .ISO, mount it on your windows and off you go?

:D, It's almost halfway now, by the time I do that the game will have downloaded. Just a minor inconvenience as I wanted to try it immediately.

Erm, do I need to remind you where those keys come from?

Lol. G2A is not a legitimate reseller and is not seen as one by any of the publishers. Many of their keys might be legitimate, but they're part of the grey market.

G2A is mostly perfectly legit. It's just a marketplace that connects users. So if a game is given away with video card or Humble Bundle or something else (or just almost free with a discount somewhere), you can be sure G2A will have those games very cheap for a long time to come. G2A allows all gamers to enjoy such special offers, and publishers don't like this so they hate on G2A.

Obviously when a bunch of product keys are stolen, a marketplace like G2A is the obvious place to flog them. But as mentioned, G2A Shield (which costs almost nothing) protects you.

Not being able to easily change your movement key binds really blows, quite the oversight.

G2A/Kinguin is no different than Ebay/gumtree. Alot of the keys are normal people selling their keys, some might get their keys legitimately, some might not. If you buy something from ebay, you will also not know where the seller got it. I got my key from Kinguin and it was clearly a key coming out of a retail box (they sent me a photo of the key inside the box), so the seller must have bought a physical copy somewhere.

So while gog.com might say there are no legal resellers, G2A/Kinguin sales are not necessarily "resellers" in the traditional sense , just like if you sold an ipad on ebay/gumtree , apple is not going to acknowledge you as a apple reseller either.

I'm sorry but this game is frigging awesome!!! The immersion is unreal, was standing in the forest watching this awesome sunset. Definitely GOTY candidate.

Sigh. So much for the TakeAlot lady telling me she'll make a note for them to deliver by 3. And now I'm having loadshedding at 6 and still no game in my hand.

Can I send you some screenshots? :p

From what I've played so far, the foliage looks terrible and 2D, the crazy shaking in the wind makes it look even more ridiculous, the colors are too bright and don't resemble the official gameplay trailers, the character models remind me of the Witcher 2, I was expecting a lot more, it has clearly been downgraded, I hope the story is good otherwise this is an epic fail, I am playing on ultra settings btw. This is only my opinion so please don't kill me, I do feel cheated though.

Same here.

I'm sitting here fuming waiting for Takealot to deliver. Delivery was suppose to be between 6 and 7 and I'm pretty sure nothing is being delivered today.

This is the second order now I've had with Takealot the past week where they have not kept to the delivery time.

I'm ordering the game now from G2A and cancelling my order with Takealot tomorrow.

Update on the G2A preorder situation:

The codes have still not been distributed. G2A finally sent out an email to apologise for the delay, and said we're all getting a €6 gift card sometime before the weekend. Personally, this suits me bloody well. I have been looking forward to playing The Witcher 3, but I have plenty of other games to play. Some free money to spend in the weekly G2A sale is nice compensation for the unprofessional service.

Just be aware that you might not receive the game immediately.

I just bought it from G2A and immediately received my key :D

I've never downloaded anything from GOG...is the download speeds ok?

Maxed my line for the whole duration, so doesn't look like their servers are under too much stress. My guess is that most people pre-loaded the game already.

G2A sent me two codes for the game just after 7. Their apologetic email mentioned that the expansion pass codes will be sent at a later date, before the release of the first of the paid DLC's. I'm just confirming that fact with their support before selling the spare code.

Super impressed so far as well, game looks fantastic on ultra.

Probably your 8MB Voodoo 2 card in conjunction with the 1MB Super VGA messing things up for you, I think it's time to get rid of it and buy a newer 12MB Voodoo....;)
Or go all out and get a Radeon

I have an HD7970 and I like AMD video cards, but this particular game is optimised for Nvidia hardware.
