The Witcher 3 Official thread

Would still be interesting to know. Game is pretty smooth above 40fps.

Thanks for the guides btw, will check them out this evening once I've seen exactly how good/bad the game runs with my current settings.

I honestly don't understand everyone crying about the graphics, I'm fully immersed in the vast world filled with quests and enjoying myself immensely and that's what matters to me.

The graphics don't bother me much (playing on ultra @ 1080p) as the environments still look lush and the gameplay is solid, but I must say that it does occur to me now and again in the game that it looks absolutely nowhere close to as good as the initial trailers suggested.

It will be interesting to see if any visual mods appear, because Skyrim was exactly the same. Even on max graphics, there was a nagging awareness that current technology is ahead of what you're seeing. But then mods appeared and those thoughts changed to 'mother of god'.

I genuinely stopped, got off my horse and thought to myself, "Hmmm, this looks foreboding, perhaps I shouldn't just charge into battle like I usually do."
For a game to get the atmosphere of a battle, combined with the weather, so impactfull; That I literally gulp down the knot of cowardice that crawled up from my gutt; I would say the weather is just perfect as it is.

Yesterday I was in the dense forest somewhere at night and the hair on my arms actually stood up :D

Been playing around with the grass density .ini settings, bumping it higher makes it much more dense and better looking. No more patchy grass!

I'm starting to really get into this game. The wonky controls and character movement, along with the visuals that looked like something out of a Cezanne painting, were rather off-putting. But the visual style has grown on me and I'm almost able to control Geralt so that he looks somewhat natural.

Played some last night. I need to get a new screen. My old school 1600x900 is not doing my 970 any justice :(

But all smooth... but not the pre-recorded cut scenes (non dialogue) so much... looks awesome, but jerky.

The in game play and dialogue cut scenes all smooth... but the leaves looks schit. Especially noticable those things that grow up the side of the castle... all moves together... :(
