The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition Arrives August 30

Hi everybody! My name is Konrad Tomaszkiewicz and I’m a Game Director at CD Projekt Red, here to tell you more about The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Complete Edition, coming to PS4 on August 30.

Starting playing The Witcher 2 yesterday.
Wow I love this game, instantly... I only started liking the Witcher 1 when it was close to the end but part 2 got me from the get go. :love:

I struggled to get into number 2, but I've been in love with number 3 from the beginning. Currently on 33 hours into my official Steam playthrough, after spending 30 odd hours in an "evaluation GOG copy".

I don't see myself playing anything else for the next 100 odd hours, to be honest... Then I still have the 2 expansions to tackle. I still need to start the first one on my MBP, but I can't get myself to play anything other than the third one.
 
I'm about 40 hours in on The Witcher 3 but took a break for a couple weeks. One of the major gripes I have is about the non-open world. Regions are locked down by completing parts of the main quest so you can't go everywhere from the start or even after 30 hours in. Also mobs that are +5 levels or more above you are almost impossible to beat even if you set the difficulty to easy. So you have to revisit areas later and run from mobs. It would be nice if we could tackle everything from the start and go everywhere we choose like say Skyrim. Just make some mobs tough but not impossible. Right now they make you do like zero damage to higher level mobs.

Do you have the right gear, weapons, skills and mutagens in place? I'm level 16 now and easily take on level 20 mobs and mini-bosses. I'm specced for fast attack and signs and with Igni, Aard and quick adrenaline buildup I slice through enemies with little trouble at all. I don't even use bombs, crossbow bolts, oils or decoctions.

Regarding locked regions, I haven't really found many places to be inaccesible. There's more than enough game world to explore once you reach Velen without delving into the main story too much. I mean I still need to find Yen in Skellige, but I keep chasing side quests, witcher contracts and treasure hunts...
 
I have also started Witcher 3. Got about 20 hours. Really enjoying it. Find it easier to take on the higher level mobs on the horse. Time slows down when you get close plus you do extra damage.

I'm lvl14 or so with about 40 hours in. Finished the Velen main quests and then did every side quest possible in the area. I put most of my points in alchemy because I want the mutagen boost and the goal is to be crit focused with the killing spree talent. Will then focus on fast attacks and adrenaline boosts. Equipment is the best I could find but there are some mobs who have the ? over their heads who hit hard and take little damage. Think that means they'e over 5 levels above you. I play on the 2nd hardest setting though. Think it is called Blood and Broken Bones. The lower difficulty settings make mobs that are your level or lower die too fast and feel to easy which makes the whole skill talent/equipment planning etc. pointless. So the scaling feels a bit off. Either too easy or too difficult.
 
This game is a massive time suck.. eish....
play 5 hours a night, get two gwent cards, hits 3-5 question marks, complete 2 sides quests... might finish this game after 250hours...

on normal difficulty can do monsters and quests about 5 levels above your level (White quest level), more than that and you do little damage and just seem to die after 2 hits by beast. horseback is fun for humans, for monster they jump around and can ever time my sword swing. just aard the monsters and once knocked down and one hit kill them.

Have probably spend in excess of 100hours already and only on level 20, and running around to all those question marks in skellig.
farming for damn rare red mutagens. though at level 19 the dark drowners seem to drop then in droves suddenly after 1-3 lesser ones for whole time to level 18.

think i might need a whole new keyboard for this game, my aswd and eqshift keys are getting nailed. probably result in keyboard going to graveyard.

Damn Gwent is addictive. and i cant get that 1st card in white orchard.
bit of a completionist...

BTw game of year edition expected end of the month with all addons (B&W, HoS) and modications to UI and combat etc.

Playing GoTY Edition with both DLCs and updates. The whole menu system has been reworked and changed. It takes getting used to.
I decided to play the main game again then the DLCs just because its such an awesome game.
 
I'm waiting on a decent special for the Season Pass (and time to play it) before I delve back in. Main game took me just under 100 hours doing everything I could get my hands on. I still have lots of ? in Skellige, but those are mostly the bandit caches in the water...
 
I've started this again with the GOTY edition. Playing an IGNI focused build and going to try and push it to the max to make everything burn. Also have the Prima Eguide and would recommend it to everyone. It has every side chest marked on the map so no more FOMO when leaving an area.

That is the next main title, there are two other The Witcher titles in the works... one which places emphasis on multiplayer, so I guess that CDPR might capitalise on that in the interim. You know, meta... /cough Witcherverse, and all that.
 
I have never played the original game, might be worth it. I am curious, however, whether this announcement is included within CDPR's line-up or whether this is in addition to?

Not anywhere near the quality of Witcher 2 or 3 but it's not a bad game.

Personally I won't be playing the remake. Not interested at all because I love playing old games that look and feel old. :p Hate this remake trend.
