The Workout and Fitness Thread

Rest today. 60 minute base scheduled tomorrow, weather forecast says 2 degrees, 16mph wind, 10% chance of rain. Joy.
Oomph. Now if we could combine temps 37C we could have a nice 20C average.

Had a headache yesterday so skipped the run. Today my HRV shows as balanced so going to tackle a threshold session this afternoon.

That was horrible. On top of it being really cold, my stomach was not happy.

I've decided I don't need to run in sub zero temperatures. I'm a recreational runner, not training for the Olympics

Due to warm up to 8 or 9 on Saturday so I'll probably go do another parkrun

Fair point.

I've contemplated to start running in the mornings to beat the heat, but I'm not that dedicated and enjoy my sleep far too much.

I got into the habit of waking at 6am in the summer, the light wakes me up. So then I take an hour to have coffee, wake up, watch some news, then run from about 7, quick shower and ready for work by 8 to 8:30. Works out well for me.

Why

Why do we do this

Started off OK, but then the cold got to me and my calves started cramping (and my HRM started fking about).

Taking starts at 03:30. Might be helpful for people getting more aches & pains as they get older.
