The world’s first cloud-connected keyboard

A cloud-connected keylogger?

The video below details the new keyboard, which is available for pre-order at $229.

I haven't watched the video but at $229 with a weak rand I will yield to the early adopters.

You still type passwords? :wtf:

You use a fingerprint reader or facial recognition or what on your desktop?

*this is a desktop keyboard, so lets pretend its not attached to a laptop and even if it was, often the laptops screen is closed and the big screens and keyboard and mouse are plugged into the laptop.

Lastpass or [insert your password manager here] Autofill ftw!

:erm: Pro tip: keyloggers typically log all keys pressed (some may be filtered out), not just usernames and passwords.

If you only use a keyboard for gaming and tapping out MyBB posts you have nothing to be concerned about.

I mostly use my keyboards for coding (work and personal) amongst many other things and I don't need my keystrokes being transmitted without my consent to third parties.

I eventually watched the promo video for this keyboard and had even more concerns but that's just me.

Indeed. Why can't it just integrate locally with the OS?

Hah. So it will send everything you type to the cloud?

Not going to work. Where are you looking when you type? I'm looking at the screen/monitor, not at the keyboard.

Still should be good as a geeky gift.

That's more of a hidden bad ass community maintained "feature".

The video claims you will subconsciously notice the different coloured LEDs doing their thing on the keyboard (it does sound plausible but not worth the price tag).

What the article doesn't say is how Das royally pomped all the backers in shipping. Originally it was $30 for worldwide shipping. Later they sent an email to say that they miscalculated and pretty much everyone needs to pay more. For SA it meant an extra $80 in shipping ontop of the 30. For others of was even more.
Also shipping from Hong Kong so eu backers now need to pay duties too.

Real dick move.

5Q? More like 4Q...

It's probably a novel idea but for the price they can keep it. I also would prefer to keep my information...well, mine as best as I can

saying it like that sounds like the worlds first legal keylogger.

in any case, has razer not had cloud connected products for a while now? razer synapse? mice and keyboards...
