I cannot believe how Vodacom continue to rip their customers off, just phoned MTN Fourways, can port my number and they even have stock of the phone. So long Vodacom, you will not be missed.
Absolutely disgraceful customer service.
Charging R4000 for a phone that you can get on a cheaper contract with MTN and its free from them.

Well done to MTN
 
I don't think it's free on MTN though, well at least not on the Anytime packages.
You may get it for free on the Business end though I reckon.
 
Vodacom must be losing customers fast. Im trying to think of how many people I know of in the last year have moved to MTN.
Me, my mother, 5 people at work, a few friends..

The leaf rep told me a broken screen on the Diamond would cost 3.6k to replace and is not covered by warranty, the cost is for the owners account... I wonder what Sony's policy on broken screens is?

I didn't get my phone today :(
Whole bunch of complications and mis-communications at the store....
Will prob only get it take next week...But for those who are interested they had 4 left at the MTN connect store at fourways mall, Just don't take mine lol and Yes IT DOES HAVE MY NAME ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
The N97 is nice'ish, But I've been waiting for this phone since Feb this year so I'm not waiting till July/August'09 for the N97. Plus the X1 looks better imoo. Plus I was due for upgrade in Oct'08
 
I must say though I like the idea of 32Gb internal memory in the N97
 
Also just noticed the keyboard on N97 only has three rows of keys. WTF ??!?!?!?!
 
;) just google "n96 problems" and then tell me n96 is flawless. ALL phones have some issues here and there, most of them get sorted with firmware updates.

ps still VERY happy with my x1
 
no phone is perfect and you will be a fool if you think a phone is perfect from the first time it hits the market!!

Also a very happy X1 user!!!!!!
 
Hmm, I'm thinking the 3 X1's Piesang got were all from the same "bad" batch since they were from the same shop. I checked out a friend's new X1 and tried to make it crash but it wouldnt. MP3s playing while using Opera on a complex webpage, some app in the background and when I phoned the phone it answered fine with no problems. Max volume is slightly low though. Sound is better on new nokias though I reckon.
