The Xperia X1 Thread

Well I currently have the P990i, so I'm definitely SE fanboi ;) I just like to be open minded and shop for the best though :)

Ok

Well I would still go for the X1
The N97 will prob arrive in europe in about May-June so we will prob have it here by August
and thats assuming there are no delays.....

Do you really want to know why I'm so pi**ed off???

Because I was really looking forward to get my hands on a X1 since the first day that it was announced. I was dissappointed by SE because I got 3 duds.

I got a N96 after that and haven't had a problem since. So in my eyes the N96 is a much better phone.

Eish that's hectic dude! 3 duds, don]'t blame u for going with the N96... ;)

different phones

ya i guess so, one is wm based while the innov8 is symbian based, but how is the video playback quality on the x1, i know it has a WVGA(480x800) screen like the htc HD but i saw on other website that when you convert movies to 480x800 resolution at 30fps, it actually lags on the x1? is that true? can somebody test it for me pls? and also are the speakers loud enough ? coz it doesnt have dual stereo speaker...

lastly does the phone respond quick? or slow as the diamond?

i was gona get the innov8 but nashua mobile dont have any stock, so im thinking of getting the x1 instead..

For your needs according to your post it will be wise to stay away from the X1.

The N96 has much better video playback due to the fact that is uses a dedicated video chip to play back videos. The dual stereo 3D speakers are also much louder.

Piesang!!

What are you smoking man ?

The X1 has a dedicated video chip too !!!
infact Its made by ATI And shared the 512Mb flash with the Cpu
This coupled with the 256Mb RAM and the 528Mhz Cpu makes for a beast

All this means that it eats things like nokia's for brealfast!!!
the only reason that 800x480 videos lag in "windows media player" is because of the lack of hardware acceleration!
I can play HD content at 750bit/s with 30+Fps with coreplayer or the media panel

I'm not sure where you getting yours facts, but please come to terms with the fact that the X1 is better and that you just making excuses so that you don't need to admit that taking the N96 was a wrong move

another thing regarding video peformance

The x1 has double the res of the N96

X1 800x480
N96 320x240

That the same res as my 3 year old D900
I can't imagine watching a movie for more than 20 seconds one such a small/low res screen....and forget about watching anything wide screen on that

HAHA

X1 has better audio quality than Ipod !
and better video perormance than the HTC touch HD

LOLOLOL
and I thought my day couldn't get any better

um..looks like i ll have to take the x1 then..i played with the 5800 when i was in taiwan in december..not very pleased with it simply because there is not many s60 5th ed software out there that works for 5800..and the built quaily is bad..there is gaps on the right edge which allows dust to get in to the screen easily..hope this x1 will be the right chocie...

you wont be disappointed by the X1, the screen is awesome and for me the video playback is amazing!! The phone is one of the most responsive mobile windows devices out there, the only lag you will experiance in the begining is sometimes changing between panels... but i am almost 100% sure this will be corrected in the near future.

Based on what the x1 can do... nothing comes close (my personal opinion)

Wrong move?? Did you have a N96?? I had a X1 so I guess I speak from xperience.

I know what a movie looks like om the X1. Believe me, the 0.2inch difference and pixels doesnt make a difference at all. I still say the N96 is smoother and better quality. Oh, and the TV out, well, you dont have that now do you? Lmao

On Gsmarena they also say that the information on there could be wrong. What the ring volume and speaker volume are concerned the N96 is much louder. I also have the experience with that.

Guys need some help, I cannot send or receive any MMS from my X1 and MTN say that all settings are correct. Please can someone tell me where and what the correct settings should be? Thanks
