hey marine1.... lets get your mms sorted. i also had issues. first things first do you have a vodafone version? or did you get from mtn?

wanted to ask you the same thing now...is it a vodacom phone?
I had lots of issues to get my MMS/GPRS both working on the phone with MTN
(Posted earlier about a HTC cab file that can set up the MMS for you...but it is not the solution imo)

Reflashed the ROM and switched it on, it asked if I wanted to download the settings for MTN and everything was set up.

And I'm rid of all that Vodafone crap.

these guys reckon though the image taken by the N96 camera is bigger the X1 is sharper and better....lol lol lol

Just another reason the X1 is better

As for battery life...been running a test
charged phone on wednesday night then:

Thursday;
music at gym for two hours with screen off
then sat on mxit at work for 4 hours and checked mail etc in between
got home and turned wifi on and browsed web for an hour
watched a movie on phone and then fell asleep listening music with screen off
Today;
in the morning bat was sitting at 70%
watched 3/4 of movie at work
mxit for 2 hours
games for 5 hours
got home and wifi on for 1 hour
gym for 1 hour with screen off
now i'm back home and L2m again and battery sitting at 40%
No charging for 2 solid days and could prob manage another day of heavy use !!!!

must say though the X1 gets F**king hot when watching a movie
 
They lock your phone with the ROM to only allow Vodacom settings.

I struggled for about a week without too much success and then reflashed

i think marine1's phone is a MTN phone, not sure though:confused:

If not then im not sure what else could be wrong, i have the same MMS settings and havent had a problem with mine so far.

Vodacom will probably drag their feet to get this sorted for you or they wont take the blame at all.. so read them the riot act and that should get them moving!!
 
wow this is whats scary about the whole number porting thing.... you can never really be "released" from a dodgy service provider :(

and i suppose there is no ways you can take an mtn number ???? you prob had that number for years hey
 
I dont actually think it was Vodacom but you never know. If it is them.....trouble will be coming.
Have had the same number for 10 years, been with Vodascum since 1995 but changed the number once I think.
