Still gonna play with the GPS, anyone know how the GPS software that comes with the phone works? Comes with google maps, maps are not up to date.

Yes, but with that much ram and CPU speed the phone is not suppose to freeze that much. Definately not when receiving a call.
 
hey all. really started using the x1 much much more. works really well. no problems at all. strange though, my speaker volume is more than adequate. i hear it easily in the busy ER room of the hospital where i work. another thing, my battery life aint that grand. it lasts easily about 36 hours but then the charger better be nearby...

i guess piesang really had rotten luck with the x1....

Read of a few X1's that dont like that Touch hd keyboard app, try touchpal 3.5 .. if ya can *source* the full install *cough* rapidshare *cough*, otherwise ya stuck with the limited free edition that has a onscreen layout like an elcheapo cellphone

I was playing around last night with the my X1 and the one thing i did notice is in the text screen you dont have the option to edit text ie like copy and paste etc, thought if you have the on screen full keyboard you can do it the traditional way like you would it on a PC. I never checked but i am guessing the hard keyboard will also work.

I know its something that is not really important but for me its a nice to have.

Also connect my bluetooth headset and seemed to connect fine will test it next time to see if the phone drops the link.

Anyone know with bluetooth if there is quick way to connect to yo

Anyone find covers just yet??

Just select the text you want then tap and hold on the screen, and you'll have copy and paste options.

My volume is also more than adequate, haven't missed any calls as yet. Also able to switch between calls without delay or losing the call. Works with my bluetooth in car and my battery life is awesome! Lasted me 3 days on first charge!!! I have not experienced that on any other WM as yet!
 
OK... looks like i have run into my first real issue with the phone. My screen has started doing funky things. When not touching it it seems to be fine but as soon as you start using it it shakes and distorts the image. sometimes everything shifts to the right and my scroll bar gets repositioned on the left of the screen, very wierd indeed. I have tried everything so far to get it sorted from uninstalling all software i installed to doing a hard factory reset, but nothing has worked. I think something must have gone wrong with the hardware. I haven't dropped it or anything. Are any of you guys experiencing this problem or am i the only one?

/me cringing at taking the phone back to mtn now that my 7 days are up :(

Does the colour change and you are unable to see anything on the screen?

nope, colour is still fine, but part of the image is not in sync with the rest. I.E. the top half of the image gets shifted to the right like when you move your computer screen with the control buttons too far and then the right of the screen starts showing up on the left. It doesn't stay like that, but flashes to that and then normal in quick succession until i remove my finger/stylis from the screen. Also if i go to the xperia panels they all seem to shake slightly like they are being selected and deselected in quick succession.
 
what have you installed since you got your phone?
 
in regards ringtone volume... this phone is SO loud its actually hurting my ears, ive turned it down. not sure piesang how you battled with low volume ringtones. geez dude im really sorry you had a bum deal with your "3" phones. this phone has been rock solid for me.
 
one thing i will never do is go against anyone supporting brands i personally dont like. i really dont like nokia and would never be seen dead with one .... i been with ericsson for over 15 years now.... im actually quite surprised i even managed to do the symbian to WM crossover :)
 
hi all
did anyone find that the top screen that slides out seems a little loose after a while. i have my phone 1 week now and it seems a little looser than normal. also when i shake the phone gently sounds like something is loose inside. Also just noticed that one key on the keyboard has been scratched and i hardly use the slide out keyboard except when typing long messages like this lol. Its the big return key has been sctratched?
