I don't think every unit is a problem one, they have just identified the problem batch and are telling people if you are in the batch then just look out for them. Because Sony will replace it. All in all still love my X1 to bits!!

Piesang, with all due respect, your views on the X1 are well documented. Would you please stop raining on the parade of those who enjoy the device. Your constant badgering of this thread is tiresome for those of us who come here to find out about the device, tweaking, other issues etc. We know about your issues, at great lengthy you have dissed the product. Job well done, if thats what you wanted to do.

LOL shame piesang. didn't think even you would go as low as to say a samsung is better than an SE.....o well......lost cause.....

so I also got a 08w45 unit but no craps or anything....should i take it back anyway and get a new one

my charger stopped working last night.....strange...
took it to MTN today and they say they have to send the whole phone in!!!!WTF!!!???

I also never thought that I would say that. But if I look back at my post I didn't say that Samsung is better than SE. I said the Omnia is better than the Xperia. IMO.

But then again, if you look at the Omnia and the Innov8 then I think SE should pull up their socks. lmao

PS. Luckily my N96 and Omnia wasn't called back for replacement due to pathetic workmanship.

Is it possible to remove the Vodacom panel without a ROM reinstall?
 
Yes

somewhere ons xda-developers can you find the Google Panel to reinstall over the Vodafone Panel. You can then still not remove the panel and change it to something else. I dont know if you can change a registry setting to allow you to change the panel to another panel.

Anyone know how to stream music to X1?
Anyone know how to browse PC's on the WIFI network ?
 
I installed this version of Touch Flo but it seems to crash quite often.

I see Piesang had a lot of problems with Manila crashing on him.

Is there a different version that's more stabile? The only other link to Touch Flo that I can find is this one on xda and the file is identical.

Can any WiFi phones do this? All of mine have just been able to connect to internet via WiFi.

I have heard that the touch flo 3d from this web site below is stable but i have not tried yet as i have had enough freezing from the early manila versions but if you try it do let us know if it is indeed more stable.

hey plofstof... yeah there are definately a couple versions of touch flo floating around. strongest version i played with was the manilla 3d hd version. strong, less lag than the others BUT BUT BUT
the weakest thing for me is there is no landscape view. so when you flick your phone over on its side it dont work. and because of that i consider not good enough for my x1. i also saw on the forums that the guys who ported that across are not planning for any landscape mod. so i went straight back to my spb shell. best thing designed FOR the x1
 
speaking of spb....

if you go into spb settings seems somehow you can add plugins to the spb today screen. ive googled but find nothing??????

any ideas?

If you set your WIFI Connection settings -> 'Connects To' to 'Work' then you should be able to browse folders on most servers. It works well, but if set to 'Work' I cannot connect to the Internet until I change it back to the Internet then I can't connect to folders again.
 
hmm not working

What i want is the end result to be the ability to stream local media to my phone from my pc to my pc using the like of windows media encoder, winamp remote or orb..

I know this is possible as i have read guided on how to achieve it, but I personally have not had success with it.....
