The Xperia X1 Thread

anyone having trouble accessing their smses?
i cant seem to get into it to read it, i also dont get any notfication or sounds for sms
it just sits there sayin the icon with an unread sms and i cant read it??????
touchscreen or navigation with keypad no result. it works fine for the other stuff
 
nothing just got the phone yesterday!
but after a restart its fine again [dunno why i didnt do that 1st b4 posting]

gonna try and unvodanize my phone soon tho
then ill mess round with the apps and stuff
 
I've been using this ROM, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=485624 for the last week or two, it is being updated very fast and makes the X1 blazing fast. This rom alone will make "banana" (speak not of evil lest it hears you:)) eats his words. It also puts Sony Ericsson to shame because it proves the X1 was shipped with faulty software.
Highly recommend this. It is not final yet but perfectly usable as is.
You might have to read the thread if you have issues.

i think so, i havent changed anything yet, so it should be R1

this is what i find:
ROM version: 1.02.175.3
Software version: R1AA017

so thats version R1, right?
 
yeah.... the new R2 is available... more stable, faster etc
 
Hi there, im new here. Got my X1 last week and loving it!!! I have a slight problem with my MMS on MTN metwork. All setting 100% etc etc..... but i can only send MMS's so some numbers. eg : 072..... 073..... 082..... 083 ....... but it does not want to send MMS's to 076.... 079..... etc

What would cause that?
 
okay... one gripe i have with my x1:
i check emails all the time, on the road alot, at clients, coffee bars, etc. my gripe is this. When setting up a pop3 account, you have to specify which connection to use, eg, vodacom internet, gprs, work, the internet. and it cannot automatically select a connection.

so, currently, i have it setup so that it uses vodacom internet, but what i would like for it to do is check if i am in a wifi area (that i have connected to before of course), and if not only use 3g as a last resort.

the p990 had that feature, i think... it would try wifi 1st before 3g. i understand that this is a winmo issue, but does anyone have the same gripe, and if so, what do you do? is there a solution?
 
Just got mine today. Whats the latest ROM I should be looking for. Googled it and found so many I dont know where to start?

NickZA. Do you have a vodafone branded phone? Supposedly thats one of their problems. Google is your friend.

Hi guys. Sorry to ask - probably been answered, but i need an answer and searching does not help much. Is there any navigation software on this phone?

I am at the point of upgrading - stuck on 2 choices - SE Experia and HTC Touch Pro (v1).

I have been through this thread and noted various comments regarding the X1 non-performance (Piesang) as compared to others positive comments.

This is now +- 8 months since the X1 was introduced - and I was hoping that any X1 users would provide some long term feedback on it. The same on the Touch Pro.

There's been a lot said about the keyboard being small (only 4 rows) and the lack of a bug free touchflo function and the panels. All this has left me really confused.

My use will be primarily for outlook, calls as well as internet usage. I love tweaking around as well.

Guys, will you please assist? The more the merrier.
