Rand/Dollar rate

This is great news. I pay into my SA pension every 6 months. Payment is due this month. :)

I budget for this payment at about 0.086 to £. It's about 0.0705 now :) that's almost £200 saving for me :)

IOL.co.za and xe.com says R8.93.

are you perhaps looking at the SELL rate?
Yes, I always use and quote sell rate, because I am converting Rand into Dollars. I want to know how many Rand it takes to buy one United States dollar. Buy rates are only useful for people who have dollars to sell.

Yep, the country and the employers have lost so much money in this whole business that they literally cannot afford to give the strikers an increase now.
In fact, many of them will most probably be laid off soon.

Re: Rand/Dollar rate

Looks set to break through the R9/US $ in the next few days. Ouch.

News of the strike deal seems to have kicked the Rand back up again trading 2 - 3% higher against the 3 major currencies so far

1$ = R8.64

I'm sure that sentiment was echoed in Zimbabwe when the inflation started going up.
One can never be sure of the future when you have clowns running the country.

Yea we don't want to end like the euro countries .
