Mate of mine reckons it's deliberate to ease selling SA to the Chinese.

The previous finance minister was doing his job as best as he could(i.e trying desperately to keep the debt levels in check).This is required of a healthy economy. If this doesn't happen the economy no longer becomes a good place to do business. Once that happens, people with rands want to sell them, so supply goes up and price drops.

Details are sketchy atm, but it looks like Nene wasn't furthering the goals of the ruling party. So he gets ditched and replaced by someone who will. This doesn't bode well if you want to invest in South Africa.

Zuma doesn't care, he will just pay himself a nice new stipend to compensate.
 
There must be a constitutional something that we can use to protect the country from this ****. Surely we can ask the courts to protect us?

I know everyone should have the right to vote, but if they don't understand...

It doesn't matter. The people want the ANC, and the ANC does what it wants. The courts are powerless, the independent institutions are powerless. The constitution was written by idealists with little understanding of the country that they were fighting for.

You would need a constitution like this in order to get what you want:
"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed."

The masses/majority are getting what they want.

Tyranny of the majority. Still democratic, but unfortunate for those that are part of the minority.

Nothing, nada, zilch.

The last chance I see for South Africa is at next year's elections. If the DA win a couple of metros, there would be enough localised growth in these areas to keep things from really going south.

If that doesn't happen, well, class warfare wouldn't be off the table anymore.
