If Zuma is fired this week and a intelligent leader like Ramaphosa is put in charge I see under R10:US within 12 months.

But the likelihood of that is around 33% imo.

If the rand reaches R20 by Friday then that likelihood goes up to 70% imo.
Yup we've been at R13 before and it bounced back to R7. So it's extremely likely it will again.

Drunk, high, or both?

Lol, rand at below 10 to the dollar... You people are dreaming...

The ONLY way this will happen is if the ANC is booted and the economy recovers, commodity prices jump, the drought ends, interest rates go up here and there's another recession in the first world.
ANC booted out would help but as history has shown that's not needed for it to recover.

Who is taking bets on the fed rate hike?

I moved more Rand's into USD yesterday at R15 on the dot. Weighted average still just over R12. Come on Feds, put us out of our misery.

They'll hike it and the Rand will go to like R18. I hope I'm wrong about what the Rand does. But a USD hike is not so bad.

Current price has it included. I rexkon if they don't Rand will improve. If they do I don't expect a massive weakening.

Already priced in surely.
To be honest I would be surprised if the Fed doesn't chicken out and leave things unchanged.

And I think claims that it's priced in are made without justification.

Edit: Colour me very surprised.

You're a bit late.

It has gone up 0.25% and the currency hardly changed.
