Great, the year I will have extra money to invest into overseas focused funds and this happens...

Why's that a bad thing? Send the money overseas, if the currency loses its value when you bring the money back you'll increase your wealth substancially relative to if you keep it in the country the entire time.

Cause the R should only have gone so much weaker a year or 2 AFTER I started :p

Yoh...ok ... so I think it is safe to say we are done with the R15.00 era ... we now well into the R16 one and heading swiftly to the R17.00 era.

It's R16.06 right now.
Some people think it will hit R17 to the dollar tomorrow.
 
The Rand will recover this is artificial.

The Rand will settle on 11 - 12 and the recovery will start from around July
