I'm guessing that can easily be verified by a simply regression.

Also there are no lag and lead effects mentioned. The impact on economic growth of an interest rate hike is only felt a year later.

Was 27 dollars is now 33 . Russians are in discussions to reduce the amount of oil they pumping out also.

I'd be extremely surprised. It's mostly lip service to push up the price in the short term.

But the finance speech will derail it and we will move back up to R16.50 unless vat goes up. Corp Tax = no go, Income Tax = no go as we have people leaving left and right.

But the finance speech will derail it and we will move back up to R16.50 unless vat goes up. Corp Tax = no go, Income Tax = no go as we have people leaving left and right.

You can bet that VAT will be last to go up. Income tax over R250k will go up with the top brackets going up the most.

Corp. rates may or may not, that is up in the air. I would bet on that they will go up.

We may even see the illusive wealth tax.

I'm in the same boat except mine is slightly more money, I got a quote for R15.89 earlier. The difference between that and R16 equates to more than R500 difference in the end.

I think I'm going to take the chance and wait until this afternoon, I am speculating the rand will weaken again.

The rand is incredibly undervalued at the moment. Sentiment can't keep it so artificially weak forever. When it does correct itself it will free fall down to around 9 to the dollar. And everyone will be all surprised except me who has seen it all before.

The groundwork will be set down by Zuma at the SONA on the 11th. The budget announcement will happen 2 weeks later I believe.
