just remember that USD needs to obviously go to an account but yes this is an option but very risky with the forex and BTC price all over the place this could cost you 3-10%

I've gotten a message of the opposite, US embassy finished repatriation flights from SA->US, but can get on the list for the next batch.No, but I have a Donald to contend with and he has just put my long term work permit aspirations on hold.
Hell, I even got a message from the sponsors that SA has looked at repatriation flights from the US to SA.

Rand was recovering so nicely until US markets woke up to S&P announcement.
