Hi All,
Busy building a brew kettle and want to attach this to an URN
View attachment 1314500
Where can I source the connection to do it neatly?
Dont wanna just dangle it in the liquid, it works but its not as pretty
Ohh thank! I guess no need to over complicate it drill hole connect washers and nut and bobs your uncle?PTFE washers (or at a push copper washers) and stainless steel nuts will do it.
You may want some SS washers as well for added strength.

its an urn for beer100%
PTFE is soft enough to waterproof and will even be allowed if you do get the still, erm "brew kettle" registered with SARS as alcohol will have no effect on it.
SS cause anything else will rust.
Thats banggood for youI am surprised they use those terminals... K-type is supposed to have a specific connector which serves as a junction which is compensated for in the amplifier.
Nah, you just move the junction to where the connector meets the wire. The only effect is that you can't measure the temperature at the junction (at the connectors), so you lose accuracy. Most people use devices that are so poorly compensated, it does not really matter anyway. For an application like this a PT100 makes a lot more sense.I am surprised they use those terminals... https://www.rs-online.id/p/thermocouple-k-with-head-6-x-200mm/6212401/ you should have gotten a holder. they work on compression fittings. we used to drill out 6mm Copper tubing compression and Ferrules to mount them in . Neat and Profesional .Hi All,

Yes, You do not use crimp on terminals. or normal wire for that fact. you use the Supplied Braded wire and fasten the bare wire directly into the reader.I am surprised they use those terminals... Looks suspiciously like Automation....Hi All,

Sorry not following? Totally out of my depths at the momentLooks suspiciously like Automation....

MAX6675 K Type Thermocouple Temperature Sensor Kit
The MAX6675 K Type Thermocouple Temperature Sensor Kit digitizes temperature readings to a resolution of around 0.25°C, ranging between 0 to 700°C.www.diyelectronics.co.za
you can use the Thermocouple to record and set tempratures automatically with arduino. add an element/chiller and you can regulate it.Sorry not following? Totally out of my depths at the moment
Correct using it with the PID to regulate the element to ensure needed temp is maintained.you can use the Thermocouple to record and set tempratures automatically with arduino. add an element/chiller and you can regulate it.
You are getting Serious with your Beer.Correct using it with the PID to regulate the element to ensure needed temp is maintained.
My goal with brewing is to brew a beer I would be happy to pay R30-R50 a bottle. Basically every beer is craft beer level thats what I aim to make. I "chase the craft". Every element you control means a better end result. Temp is super important. At present I use an STC1000 but its 2deg fluctuations acceptable but it can be better. Hence the upgrade to PID. One massive skill I learnt and have been developing since hard lockdownYou are getting Serious with your Beer.

When I setup my system I replaced the K thermocouple with the one below so that I could standardize on one size. Also based on what I researched when I built my system they said this specific K thermocouple didn't last nor was very accurate.Hi All,

Mmm that seems like it might be the better option where did you get the barrel connector? When I setup my system I replaced the K thermocouple with the one below so that I could standardize on one size.
