Completely depends on how he/she found religion. If it was forced down her throat at school or something like that, then you had better believe I would counter it with as much information as I and the internet can muster.
However, if he/she comes to me with questions about religion or atheism, I will answer as impartially as I can with as much information for both sides as I can. I will be open and forthcoming and whenever they ask, "Daddy, what do you think I should believe", I will happily answer with: "You have all the information, you make sense of it yourself, whatever you choose is up to you".

So not the complete opposite of what most religious people would do, which is to fight the atheism regardless of how it came about. But I feel that it is the most fair position to only aggressively counter-convert, if somehow, religion was aggressively pushed on them.

Side note, I will be doing everything that I can to make sure that there is nobody in their life that will force religion on their tiny minds. So that I will only ever have to be in the position to offer information and empower them with the wisdom to decide for themselves.

I wonder if you are going to call your daughter all those wonderful names (if she becomes religious) that atheists tend to call religious people. I don't know how I'm going to handle it if my son becomes an atheist.

We only call the nutcase religious people names . Seriously though, my child will be brought up to be able to think for him/herself, If they turn to religion, I fully expect it to be the very sane and intelligent religious type.

Rather than screaming and crying in tongues while having convulsions, I think he probably would not care about her belief and love her either way.

Very different from the average theistic parents reaction when they find out their kid is atheist.
