Things that irritate you - Part 4

This convoluted nonsense where carriers still need to staple two pieces of paper together

Pricing of Sun City - like wtaf used to go as a kid quite a lot in the 90s and 2000s, but looking at the pricing how the frak could anyone go? Even the day visitor pricing is pricey as hell.

My partner and I took her daughter and her sister ice-skating.

Meal plus ice skating = R2000 day out. And not fancy food, just a Spur right next door to the rink.

Doing anything nowadays is stupidly expensive.

Yeah it is indeed :-(. Still can find some decently priced stuff if you look around. Managed to get tickets to the wonderboom airshow for R140 each :-)

People on the road as of late just entering a road without checking for oncoming traffic and the distance / speed at which the oncoming vehicle is travelling. It's as if these individuals just hope that you jump on your brakes in time.

Another particular annoyance are oncoming vehicles with their wheels on the center line encroaching in the lane that I am travelling in as if they are scared of the curb on their side which makes their intentions that they want to be in both lanes at any given time.

Is this Durban? Sounds like Durban

Not sure how you know but you know

One has to drive lately with the understanding that someone will inevitably always pull out in front of you, so you as you approach a road with a car waiting your brake foot already starts itching and the finger ready to flick brights

Could be Jhb as well, every Wednesday when I go to the office, the traffic ****up that is Corlett Dr just past the M1 heading East should be a reminder for me to find another route. Anyone and everyone driving on the road side of the road, blocking multiple intersections, etc. I even had a taxi driver get very upset with me because I just stopped in my lane when he was on the wrong side of the road and then had to merge in to traffic...

True, but in comparison Durban just, just beats out JHB. While on the N2 had a car cut across three lanes of traffic and just stop in the fast lane, not slow down, just actually stop. The emergency lane was on the other side, the one he came from. Then again JHB does have people who have no concept of driving, do a 3.2 turn and see how many people try squeeze past you.

Yeah, had someone the other day on the N1/N14 split coming from Pretoria realise they were going on to the N1 to Midrand but wanted to be on the N14 to Krugersdorp. No problem, they just stop in the fast lane and start reversing, which didn't go down well and they had to eventually carry on to the N1. ****wits, they are everywhere...

Entitlement, that is it, there are people who just assume they are entitled to whatever they want.

Mixed in with stupidty, a lack of common sense and perhaps a bought driving licence. I remember my father beating safety in to me when I was learning to drive on the road.
100% there is a very much lack of safety, the amount of times I see people just driving through red robots these days. In one day three trucks just barrelled right through red robots, one narrowly missing another car who was turning as it was his turn.

To add to this; people that jump out in front of you when there is nobody else behind you and then proceed to crawl.

They could have waited a few seconds for you and then have perfectly clear road, but nope. Take the gap, make you hit the brakes and then hold you up.

What really erks me is seeing constant paid for advertising on/ in between online forums. Like right in between the discussions and interaction pages.

Stanley. Waiting ages now for a new lid because of their recall. Useless company. You pay R1k for a water bottle and still get piss poor service. Probably sending the thing through the useless post office and it's gone forever.
