Lent my portable hdd to a friend cause he wanted to watch a few series. He sent a message that the kid his girlfriend was looking after pulled on the dvd the hdd was connected and it fell to the floor. My hdd and their dvd player are both f**ked. More than 500gb of movies, series, music and iPad apps (it was my default drive for iTunes) in sy moer in cause that was my actual backup.

Lesson i learned 20 years ago. Never lend someone your stuff. Dvd get scratched etc. I look after my stuff.. but other people don't.

So you friend should have given you mem stick and you copy it for them. No way in hell I would give someone my hdd to use. Last resort.. bring their hdd and copy from yours. My HDD stays with me..

Had I widened my turning circle by just 50 or so centimeters today at a robot turning right I would have driven over the f**knut that decided to overtake me on the left with his little coffin on wheels*. I was at the front of the queue and as it was at a T-junction there was no one to wait for to cross my path before I could turn so I don't see what his excuse was to pull such a stunt.




*DISCLAIMER: I too am a biker and respect my fellow two-wheelers on the roads but sh*t like this really makes my blood boil

Sh*tty hotel Wifi

First the captive portal would not open so I rebooted my laptop. Now I am connected without having to even login via the captive portal, but the speeds are so hectically slow even SpeedTest is timing out :crylaugh:

I ended up using my 3G stick instead. 20kbps down was very, very frustrating :)
 
Freakin takealot.

** Order item (sourced from 3rd party) last month: Available in 3-5 days. Done
** Get a call a few days later to say no, can only get here the 15th of this month (May). Ugh, ok.
** Call them yesterday and today to confirm the items will definitely be here...they just don't return calls and can't give any confirmation. They cannot return a call to tell us what their warehouse in JHB can / can't do.

** I call the supplier directly (today), order the stuff I need (again) and it's being delivered tomorrow (overnight). They (supplier) made an effort to accommodate us.
 
When people can explain to you exactly how they want their coffee. But when it comes to IT matters , this is an IT professional, can't get 1+1 together in a spec. ffs

Maybe because there is more to IT than just throwing some milk and sugar into coffee?
 
Creepers on the road, doing 60 or 70 kph in a 100kph zone. Or 80kph in the right lane on a highway and refusing to get out of the way.

People that does not close drawers or cupboard doors.
People that stand in business or office doors, blocking them and chatting.
Walking in the road when there is a perfectly good sidewalk.
Thinking emergency indicators means you can stop where you like and do what you like
 
Woman asks for your opinion, discards it immediately, and goes with her original opinion. Then why the actual **** did you ask me in the first place???
