Yep, been a trustee for 7 years now. Its highly annoying how residents think you now owe them something and nag you about the stupidst stuff. We are unpaid volunteers sacrificing our free time to keep all of our financial assest sound. 90% of being a trustee is managing financial affairs, 10% is trying to manage people into keeping the rules of the complex and that 10% is 90% of the headache. We are fortunate in that we have a fairly awesome complex with good trustees and plenty support from residents but we have had our times.
The most annoying residents I have ever dealt with was an older couple from the NW who rented a unit diagonally opposite mine. Accross from them where the recycling bins we keep (green wheely bins). They found these things unsightly and constantly complained any time they where even slightly full as you could then "gasp" see the bottles and plastic. No one else in the complex minded, and generally we are proud of our recycling efforts. These people signed the rental agreement with the bins present, so they got in knowingly. However they made it their life's mission to get rid of those bins. We bent over backwards trying to satisfy them (got nicer looking bins, more regular emptying, gardeners moving excess into garbage area) and it was never good enough. Eventually they decided to leave the complex over this. Shortly before leaving this charming old afrikaans oomy tipped the glass recyling bin over in protest of it being full again all over the driveway, shattering so much glass. This is also right by the pool and back exit of the complex so it would impact children walking bare foot to the pool and pet walkers who often take their dogs out that way. They also did this on the first day of a long weekend.
Seriously charming people. Forever more they will be known as the EFF oom and tannie as they seem to like trashing places in protest. Not sure how messing up the driveway in front of their house improved the situation but hey, who could understand people like that. The shouting match I had with them was epic, and rare, as I almost never loose my cool.
I'd love a hermit cave ;-).........../snip
Jeez, how can you live like this?
Where are you guys situated? There are so many free standing houses on the market at the moment I'd buy if I were you.
Sleep deprivation.
No matter what time I hit the sack, I always struggle to get a decent night's sleep. For a while I reckon we can push through. Eventually it starts to be a road block. You got that one right.
For some reason, only hit me this morning, despite weeks of short-changed sleep. Must be a shift of weather in the air.
QFT. Even big roll is starting to hurt the pocket. The current cost of living. Sh*t's getting expensive, yo!
