Had a genuinely crappy day

Then on leaving discovered my work phone is missing. Fuuuuu

Entire bloody office has identical phones and Find my phone seems to be linked to enterprise account so can't use that.

So tomorrow morning phone hunt and/or explain to IT why i need a new iphone

Gonna go to sleep at 20h00 today...f this day.

Electricity still off today (since yesterday) Apparently the cables are faulty, and guess what, the backup cables are also faulty.
That's the story they spin anyways.

Edit: Sounds like it's gonna be off for another 2 days as they need to order parts.

I get irritated and paranoid when I can't reach my network at home. When I see the session log at Vox shows the connection died it 8:20 I get even more worried. Have I been burgled? Did the house burn down? Did the police raid the place? Then I start dialing some of the phones and only one rings, luckily it is the one on the top floor that rules out fire.

I told my wife and she was very worried, being more paranoid than me, and went to check out out over lunch. Turns out a dodgy cellphone charger blew up and tripped the power.

People who use the comic sans font to denote sarcasm when a "/s" would do.

I'm the same.

I couldn't get hold of my wife after I just messaged her whilst she was in town.

Was she in an accident? Stabbed? Raped? All the worst crap ran through my head.

After an hour, I left work and went straight home just to see if she might be there.

Turns out she was already at home for like 30 minutes and forgot to put her phone on charge and switch it on again. :(

Telco with countries is many different time zones. Guess what I’m doing at 10pm :-(

Related to this, IT at work doesn’t want to install Skype for when I must telco in office hours, something about it using too much of the network? Truth or they just not keen to help me. The Skype site is blocked so I can’t access it.

WTF Joey? Want to try that again in English? Or Afrikaans, or any actual coherent language for that matter. FYI, for most purposes, "telco" is short for telecommunications company, I'm not too sure what you mean by using it.

I'm the same. /snip(

We have setup Google Location Sharing via the Maps app. Me, her and my folks. So we can see at anytime where the others are. It saves time cause you don't have to call someone asking them where they are or if they are on their way somewhere, you can just look and see. It also does not use extra battery power because this information is already being recorded for the NSA anyway.

There is also two tracking units in her car as part of field trail testing for my company.

But when I can't reach my PC at home.... :(

OK. I was irritated so let me try again.

I need to do a teleconference call with people in various time zones. Latest example last night was luckily from home at 10pm to accommodates Australian colleagues. The next round will be 5pm my local time.

So not wanting to use my phone, I asked the IT unit at work to install Skype so I can use it with the web access art he office.

They declined the request because of the impact it will have on the PC environment, bandwidth or the like. We have about 2 000 people in the building during office hours to give an idea of the scale of things using email services.

So I asked if they have a point or if they just don’t want to help me. Will my Skype call really have such an impact on the rest of the staff on the network?

Thanks
