OK. I was irritated so let me try again.
I need to do a teleconference call with people in various time zones. Latest example last night was luckily from home at 10pm to accommodates Australian colleagues. The next round will be 5pm my local time.
So not wanting to use my phone, I asked the IT unit at work to install Skype so I can use it with the web access art he office.
They declined the request because of the impact it will have on the PC environment, bandwidth or the like. We have about 2 000 people in the building during office hours to give an idea of the scale of things using email services.
So I asked if they have a point or if they just don’t want to help me. Will my Skype call really have such an impact on the rest of the staff on the network?
Thanks
2000 Workers? Im guessing that needs a 5/10G fibre connection, no way will your skype call cause issues.
