Well, look, officially our pay date is the 3rd to last day of the month, which in this case is only on Monday. But during the last 3 paydays were the 24th, 23rd and the 18th respectively, so it was never really set in stone.

Anyway, someone asked him when we will be getting paid, and he says he "forgot".

Oh that's rubbish. You guys must not allow it. It is very unprofessional and it shows that he doesn't care about the people that work for him. My main income used to work like that, although it comes form overseas, so the guy always paid late and his excuse was its the SA banks etc. etc. So then I made arrangements with an accounting firm this side to pay me and then he needs to pay them. Since then my money has been in my account before the end of the month.

Yap, for my wife.... Don't know what's wrong so it's the only specialist in SA, and tons of blood tests that needs to go to special labs.... This excludes having to drive either to Pietermaritzburg or Johannesburg. No medicine included yet.... Eish. Time to find more Freelancing projects.

I appear to have ordered around 400zar worth of red pens yesterday night. And already on it's way so can't cancel

It is illegal. According to the Basic Conditions of Employment Act, the wages must be paid no later than 7 days after the period they are paid for.

Too lazy to look for the section number but I’m sure of it.

I know because I drafted the work contracts of my company according to which we are paid the 6th of the month.

I have bought many stupid things while drunk but never pens or on Amazon.

When it's not stifling, there's a flippin flash flood or a friggen howling gale :( :(

We're one week into putting a loft room in our very high roof. They've removed an 8m x 2m strip of roof tiles, built some wooden supports and covered them with tarpaulin as protection from rain.

The &*$£÷_¥ wind started at 8:00 and is still howling. Feels like the roof will blow off. I'm sleeping in the spare bedroom just in case the structure collapses.... AND we've got no electricity.

I am not enjoying my Saturday evening :(tarp.jpg
