Things that irritate you.....

If they were my kids, they would get the hiding of their life. That is really disrespectful language to use, I am surprised you allow it.

hmm...I wouldn't say that's bad language...they aren't calling anyone bitch and it's just part of a song.

And yet many allow their kids to listen to Eminem... complete with lyrics about "how I am gonna get that hoe"

What do you mean? My reference is basically asking "how uptight are you"?

My kids were just singing it, not saying it to someone. What is it that bothers you? The bitch-word?
Yes. I don't care if all the other kids are using the word, I would give my kids the hiding of their life.

Likewise here, lotsa respect for bitches, big screen TVs, blunts, and forties

^^ sounds like a scene from 50 shades of grey....... :p

Swearing does not maketh a lessor human.

I've raised my kids well enough for them to know the difference between right and wrong. Swearing isn't really a punishable offense in my books. I can't really force them to not swear when every second word out of my mouth is vok.

They have the utmost respect when talking to adults, and I get commended quite often on their good behaviour. And no one is more surprised than me, after all, I am the dad :D

The 1 post wonders in the latest competition telling all these fancy stories when it is their first post or all of them have been in competitions only :p

One said they can't remember how they joined and it was obviously the competition lol.

It is not swearing. It is a term of disrespect.

It is not swearing. It is a term of disrespect.

The intention makes it disrespectful, not the word.

Female dog - wow, very disrespectful.

Singing it in a song, not a disrespectful intention in my opinion.

Seriously though, do you let your kids listen to any kind of music, or do you restrict to specific things?

This is the same argument racists use when they say the "k-word" doesn't actually mean what it means, it just means "infidel" Puh-lease!. A word like "bitch" is meant to be disrespectful specifically to a woman and it is shocking that it is become so popular nowadays. This word was used in the 60s by drunken abusers while beating their wives. A slippery slope.

Jirre, but you have issues.

So when I get home in the afternoon, and I ask my daughter, "What have you done today?" And she replies with "Vokkol" it's okay? But if she says "Vokkol bitch" I must give her a backhand?

Not really the same as the k-word, because there really is just one meaning to it. I see they've even renamed the k-word tree now /facepalm.jpeg

Let me ask you something, you and me have now mentioned, the k-word. What's the difference between saying, "the k-word" or just saying ******? Same blerrie thing.

Not sure if it is allowed.
I would also give the kid a hiding if she said "vokkol" to me. It is not my fault you are hen-pecked by your wife and kids and just let it go.
