I may be lynched for what I am about to say but I find Knysna to be overrated. Getting anywhere in town is a mission, the parking is mostly non-existent, food prices are pretty high compared to other parts of the surrounding area and there are way too many jaywalkers :D

I much prefer George as it's only about half an hour's drive away and the pace there feels more upbeat. If I were to settle in either of those places, George would be my bet. There seems to be a lot more going on there and the dorp has a nicer vibe than what Knysna seems to give me. George doesn't have the lovely sea view but being nestled between the mountains has it's own charm :)

George will be on my Radar for sure when I plan to visit that part of the world. thanks for the heads-up
 
Yeah Knysna is nice, but I much preferred Plettenberg Bay. Didn't spend much time in George, but it was nice. Brenton-On-Sea has a nice beach in Knysna and the views are nice, but that's about it. Plettenberg Bay is a much nicer holiday destination whichever way you look at it.

EDIT: Holy crap I used the word "nice" a lot there.

Never liked Knysna. Overrated and smells like vrot fish.
 
Bought wine for 8 quid = 140 zar...I've had 50 zar wine in SA that was better.

Jirre fk...tempted to pour it away and go buy something diff

9/10 times I do buy SA wine...the Tesco didn't have white saffer though.

This stuff...I don't think it's bad per se but the grape variety or something is just not working. Manages to be too sweet and too sour at same time.

IAAF Athletics streams.

5 throws of the javelin final shown, 40 minutes in. They've shown the last lap slow mo replay of the 5000m about 4 times, and Usain Bolt standing on the warm-up track has gotten more coverage as well.
