Men who are overly sensitive and read meaning into what you say - when you actually only meant what you said.

Uhmm no that'd be a woman. Most men say what they mean and mean what they say

Just trying to blend in with the frenchies :p

Disappointed by breakfast. No bacon or scrambled eggs. Love pain au choc etc but a full breakfast it does not make

Strange, most places usually have it. I’d be disappointed too.

Haha, reminds me of someone from the EFF who was on 702 a while back. " We mean what we say and we say what we mean."

Trust me - sometimes I wonder. Think I am more male than he is.

You would think! I have many years experience to know that what you say is not true.
I've got a good few years experience as well.

While it may or may not be true that men "say what they mean and mean what they say" (not in my experience, but that's a personal opinion), what was being complained about was a man misunderstanding what someone said and attributing more complexity to the statement than was meant.

Which - again in my experience - can happen quite a lot when the listener thinks the speaker is more devious than they actually are.

People who think that swearing will magically enable me to solve their problem.

Yep it is something like that. Or he is having a bad day and wants to take it out on the closest person. Usually due to various insecurities/inconveniences. Often happens just before I go on a business trip. He then has to take over all my usual tasks. Outcome is always - I am very happy to have the few days away.

Ah - I get you. Relationships should be that simple. No games - no emotional blackmail. People should say what they mean and mean what they say. These games are exhausting. You have to walk on eggs... no matter how carefully, you know it is going to crack and then you are in the mess - again.

Even a question like - What do you want for lunch? becomes this long drawn out process. It should be simple. You should know what you want. It does not depend on what I am having - or what I want to make - or what I am willing to make. By all means ask what is available. But then make a selection! He generally doesn't like anything I eat anyway. So why ask? (Rant over)
