Got ESXi 7.0.3 installed on an old Dell PowerEdge R420 server, as interim measure to get some VM's moved away from an HP server that's slowly dying.

Glad for that, battled for a whole day to get ESXi installed on an HP ML310e... now that server'll be somebody else's bebbeh and problem, hehehehe

VM migration process will be started tomorrow.

Come to think of it, they really will pay for themselves as I am sure I can sell the 8GB Samsung module that is in the PC for R500 or more.

I last saw them on 27 Feb this year. My wife left on 7 June.

Yeah, very happy to be home, except the cat wants to go roaming. That's a hard no, buddy!
Yup he's about 11 000km away from his old home.

Ordered a bed base online (long story - the one we brought from SA wouldn't fit up the freaking stairs)...
It arrived yesterday, unpacked it, hauled it upstairs and found one of the drawers fitted to it was broken (may well have been caused by me vs stairs...)
Took a photo, sent it to the supplier, they're couriering a new drawer, no questions asked...

VM's finally migrated away from the disaster of a server.

Now we can relax a bit.

Currently playing around with the old server, hammering it with a stress tool to see how long the hard drives will last :)

Found out where to disable the annoying vibration my smartwatch makes when messages come in.

Must have enabled it by accident. Doh.
