Yes we were pleasantly surprised to have no outages. Lightning hit as well, not a single appliance taken out with it either.

When we first moved in to our house, we planted three Australian tree ferns, one of which got nuked early on by our rescue cocker spaniel as she panicked when left home alone. We then moved one to a different location which has been doing great despite not being planted deep enough, the remaining small one has led a hard life having been dug up and replanted three times due to our springer spaniel puppy. We spent a week in the Southern Drakensberg at the beginning of November and came home after a very hot and dry week to find the small fern having wilted a lot and I thought that it was finally over. With all the recent rain in Johannesburg, apparently not, I counted at least three new shoots yesterday so it looks like there is still life in the fern...

I just saw a notification from my previous employer that vaccines for staff will be madatory from the start of their new financial year in April next year. **** I'm glad I am outta there.
