I managed to get this last pair, and it's a pretty good shoe. Went for a 60km ride with it yesterday and apart from being a bit on the heavy side I like it.

I get why it was on a clearance sale though. How many ladies do you know have such big feet and require a sneaker that can be used in industrial environments where steel toe caps are required?

Well this "lady" likes them ;)

Exactly why I did - what a deal! I am actually size 10 and have no need for steel toe caps - but at least now I can venture into industrial/construction zones knowing I comply with footwear regulations while looking snazzy. Maybe some more shows up here.
I had steel tips when I did used to go on to some building sites, they can be uncomfortable, though those were in proper CATs.

Steel toe-cap shoes can look ok. I bought a leather pair in England and have used them often on building sites. A brick landed on the edge of once and bounced off. A major scratch but no damage to me

A shoe-repairer shop in Wynberg glued on a new cover. Worn with fairly thick socks they are comfortable but as soon as I get in the car they come off

I only went for them cause of the price and because I ride flat pedals on my bike. With those with domes on the front at size 11 they look like clown shoes if I am honest. But very comfy on the bike and my wife even remarked they do not look that weird so I might want to try and not ruin them out on the trails and wear them as a normal pair of sneakers. Thinking back of some instances where I had "contact" with rocks/trees and other hard objects out riding I think these will work nicely. But I do see the appeal of extra toe protection.

Her accent is a complete mishmash, what nationality is she in fact?

She is rather easy on the eyes, it's a pleasure seeing the driver POV camera angle :D
Hahaha, I know right?? But she is supposedly Swiss (I think) but the accent is Swiss with some I dunno German & some slag Brit thrown in. I dig it

Well Swiss do speak German,Italian and French. There isn't a Swiss language, most Swiss sound German sort of, but watching the video she sounds like the Swiss I've dealt with :).

Today we spotted our first Secretary Bird and a Olive Grass Snake in the KNP. It was probably the highlight of the day which had lean pickings.

Lean pickings today, but we did catch a lion's tail disappearing into thick bush, rhino, and a chameleon crossing the road. It was a low-key day, but with family it was special.
