Things that please you...

Scheduled to go on holiday in 2 weeks time.

(The optimist in me is pleased with this, the pessimist is scared that it may get negatively affected by COVID)

Same here. Mine is a local trip though, so should be fine.

We're booked in the Kruger NP. Good in the sense that we'll be isolated mostly (in our own car or in the units), but if SA imposes local travel bans and we're not allowed to drive there I'd be a sad panda. I also hope the KNP doesn't decide to close or something drastic like that.

Or that there are no anti-corona mobs on the roads to the KNP....

We also have a trip planned for the Easter weekend. Tell you this much, if this were cancelled I would be epically crestfallen. Yeah, yeah. I was there in December. These trips are what I use to "sanitise" the mind and soul.

Having a 3hr video conference with the 7 bestest friends ever, some good wine and loads of stupid laffs...
Now this can work. No chance of transmitting any nasty COVID-19 stuff and the chance to have a good get-together.

If more people can think like this, that a pub or bar or any public meeting place is not required for a meeting, and is not subject to curfew....

Using Zoom (free app), we had a great time. Definitely recommended - occasional reconnects required per the free app restrictions, but we easily adapted

We talk on Teamspeak or Discord. Even if we are all playing different games - it is still nice to be able to "be with your friends"
But really - Push to talk is a must
Playing online Uno, Exploding kittens, Cards Against or a similar game - with shots as penalties - gets quite entertaining.

I do agree with you here its definitely not a Requirement as such. But think of it this way, you don't Need your sausage now do you.

Most staff are being sent home to work from there. Not sure how much longer I personally will still work from the office - there are a handful of us that are staying behind for the time to ensure the rest manage to get their setup done to work from home.

Allergies, all the stuff people spray on their hand desks and in the air is making me have a really bad time, have been chowing antihistamines like cereal.

One of our garage door remotes still working after I forgot it in my mountain biking shorts and it ended up in the washing machine this morning.

Had a really nice undisturbed work session today.
