Things that please you...

Not the best photo, but DVD playback on my 4k TV still looks surprisingly good. View attachment 1259838
Modern upscaling is really good, I see it as well when sometimes, YT will default to 720p and then upscale it to 4K on my TV. It's obviously not as crisp as 1080p and up but it's not half bad most of the times

Yeah it really is amazing, I mean this is 576p upscaled 8 times and only on when it moves over numbers can I see pixelation

Got a quote of £900 to fit a towbar to our car.
Bugrthat.

Bought one online for £280 delivered, and spent 3 hours this morning with spanners and dremels

Nice. Speaking of towbars, I actually received the key for my towbar on the A4 (the previous owner had lost them) from ReplacementKeys.co.uk the other day. Only cost 3 quid for the key and 3 quid for shipping. It's not the original Westfalia key, but it works all the same. This pleases me because now I can fit the car into the tandem garage:D

I did consider a removable one, but budget is a little tight...

For the price they are asking, I cannot say I blame you. Did you have to remove your bumper to fit it? Some cars allow you to take the rear panelling off and get to the chassis that way, but others seem to require bumper removal. Even worse when you have to deal with PDC sensors and integrated fog/stop lamps.

Yeah had to take the bumper off but there is no pdc or lighting, hardest thing was getting out those annoying plastic push in clips. Had to take the exhaust back box off too to get to the anchoring points. Longest time was scratching heads over routing of the wiring harness...

I was surprised at how strong those removable tow hitches are, mine is a factory fitted Westvalia - made a lovely dent in a Polo when it decided to not pay attention and ram into me.
Have you felt how heavy those things are? Mine must weigh a good 7 or 8kg. It's pretty heavy for a relatively small piece of iron. When I took it off I nearly crushed my fingers as it came down. It was stuck on pretty good, as I'm sure the last time it was off was in 2007 when the car was produced.

I have not taken these off, but I do recall having bought a proper full size tow hitch for my wife's Astra H. I could hardly carry it....

good price, was that delivered via the Post Office?

As odd as it sounds - yes. It found its way into my mailbox around a month after purchase. A small little 'par avion' parcel with Royal Mail stickers all over it.

It fits perfectly. All I had to do was give them the key code off the towbar key barrel and they cut a compatible key

Good to know, I've noticed for whatever reason UK parcels do come through quicker than any other country.

Pie charts.
No chart is funnier than a pie chart.
