Heartbroken. For my wife. And for my wife who lost a dear friend who passed away this afternoon. She was so amazing. Oh man

She tragically lost her husband and young children in a car accident early January on a notoriously known stretch on the N1 near Kroonstad.

I can only pretend to imagine how bitterly dark her world instantly became. No solace or respite anywhere. Rest in peace dear soul

It's so fcked up how things like this happen to people that seemingly deserve it the least.

Dear Kerry,

I knew you by very brief encounters, but mostly though through association, reputation and the many loving comments of my wife.

There is no doubt you were an awesome and amazing person who contributed richly to the world you lived and worked in. Super intelligent, kind and loving. A beautiful life cut short by your struggle with cancer. Your tenacity and will to break through this scourge has inspired many around you.

Sadly, today, you succumbed to this horrible disease.

You left an indelible and touching mark on all who knew you.

To your family, children, and father-in-law, my deepest condolences. May you rest in eternal peace

On my way home driving down Sandton Drive towards William Nichol and Republic, I passed through a major collision in the intersection. Fire Brigade, a few ambulance, JMPD and others in attendance.

It took ages to get through the intersection. But seeing at least two cars badly mangled and people in proximity inconsolably crying, it left me deeply hurt and solemn. It was a massive inconvenience to traffic, but I was immensely saddened as passed through this tragedy. I am still reflecting on this

Went to leaving drinks for the guy who took over my job when I decided I didn't want to manage people any more.
Zimbabwean SA resident who has been in the UK for 3 years, on a sponsored work visa.

In April, 2 weeks before he was due to start the process of renewing his work visa which expires end of this month, the company put him at risk of redundancy (along with 250 other people) and as such would not sponsor the extension.
He's been unable to find another employer to sponsor a work visa for him, so he has to pack up his family head back to SA. I'm absolutely gutted for him.
