This country... i just dont know..

What I'm doing to curb it is to make my family safe and to kill the next f@cker that gets in my yard or home. I f ever I see a criminal attacking someone in the street I will not stand idly by, I will kill. The next time they pull a knife on me I will take his own knife and shove it so far down his throat that no dr. will even find it without cutting him open even more!!

"Crime is high is SA and no one is denying that, All I'm saying is what are u doing to help curb it? I'll tell you, you complain to rpm on myadsl.co.za...That must be quite effective

You make as though the people here do nothing but complain about the situation. Do you even know them, how can you say they do nothing?

Slaine73 = Malema

- Both speak violently
- Both will kill for what they believe in

If you ask me, you are a true patriot

No I will kill to defend those I love, and those innocent people who gets attacked in broad day light. I will not kill because someone else tell me to, or for some idiotic political ideology.
You are quick to talk, but have you struggled to keep any one from killing and raping your wife, while you are being stabbed again and again?

Alas I have to go now. bsntombela you must also see the people's frustration in their complaining on this site. But complaining and letting off steam does not mean they are doing nothing.

With all due respect, I aim not to insult or attack you in anyway. I too have been a victim of crime, more than onces. If just saying, u walking around with a gun or knife in the pocket will most certainly not curb crime, it might give you a temporary sense of safety, but that can be short lived.

We should be discussing how we can ensure that who ever stabbed u, and tried to hurt you, is not afforded the opportunity to do so ever again.

That's what your government is supposed to do  But instead, they leave it to us to sort out.

Please, we are supposed to be the smart ones here, stop behaving like Malema now...

Stop trying to put sugar coating on the fact that a nice young man was killed in cold blood for fk all !

FFS, what is wrong with you people

Hai, what are you attacking me for?
I was simply responding to some of the immature posts we read over here, Geez, I too am not happy with crime around here. No one deserves to have their live prematurely taken from them, especially by a some maniac who has no regard for human life.

I was just saying, maybe we should be doing research on how we can help the government solve crime. if they dont do anything about it, then we go to the polls, we vote for the people who will listen to us, that way we can rule our country...

The famous freedom charter does say, "The people shall govern"

My safety is above any political party or any "personality cult", I'm willing to do anything to be safe in my country...

Sorry was not aimed at you directly. I just quoted the first possitive guy closest :o

But to all the positive people. I for one love this country and all the good in it, but no matter what Crime will always be the black scare this country has and there is nothing to be positive about that.

I hate the "Possitive" posts in threats like these. Sorry but that is just me

I'd prefer my views are viewed as trying to provide a way forward, i'm not being oblivious to the crime, corruption, unemployment et al. that the current administration has failed at

I may be stating the obvious but what is clear is violent crime affects each and every South African regardless of geographical location, skin colour or income group. We in this **** together, that is quite clear to me and the general populous is sick and tired of it but the people employed to care simply aren't doing enough... Inevitably people will take the law into their own hands and who can blame them?...

But other than that what can be done to curb the pandemic?
1.) We need properly equipped and trained policemen/women
2.) Properly trained and equipped forensic departments and detectives
3.) Properly trained state prosecutors
4.) Most importantly we need a co-operative community and unless they feel safe from the criminals they exposing this won't happen so it's a catch 22. The community is the single most potent tool for fighting crime. A mother knows, a fathers knows or a brother knows,a neighbour knows, what a family member may or may not have done..

Criminals need to be brought to book and punished for their infringements. At the moment this doesn't seem to be happening...

Well it seems this topic has blown up a bit. Sorry if i offended anyone with my comments on "This country". I read a few posts and theres alot of information here, personal opinions etc. Id rather stay out of it.

Yes PB that is the Spar - the centre is called Constantia Square and the Pub is called Uncle Jim's. The guy that was shot is the Indian guy with the spiky hair that sells LOTTO tickets and cigarettes. The owners are the Portuguese people. Indeed tragic.

Im friends the owners son, his dad (the owner) had an anxiety attack on sunday (due to the incident), had to goto hospital so hopefully hes doing okay. My condolences go out to the indian guys family.

I don't believe apologies are necessary but I'm sure it's appreciated none the less. I think when threads about crime don't evoke passionate and emotive responses from forumites, then we really got serious issues, cause then it means we've reached a point where we no longer care and that would be catastrophic...

Since we are all here and this has our attention, why not use this as a catalyst to try and work out some sort of strategy or to try and come up with some ideas of how we, as abused citizens, can help solve the problem.

Never mind how small the contribution is or how stupid the idea may seem.

Instead of wasting our energies on whinging and slagging each other off, lets try and make this poor guy's death spark debate that makes a difference.

We have a lot of inteligent people here with varying proffesional and personal bacgrounds, surely attention and thought could be channeled into something constructive instead of being wasted watching the us erections.

PLEASE!
