Did some browsing and 5 pages down in this forum theres still no liverpool supporters thread so i figured i'd start one.If the dirty mancs can have one then surely Englands most succesful club deserves one:)

If your a Red and enjoy singing YNWA then lets talk about all things related to LFC.
 
Nothing,just funny that Fergie didnt want to sign him because he thaught he wasnt prolific enough infront of goal,then Rafa signs him and he breaks Ruud's record for scoring the most league goals in a debut season....looks pretty prolific to me:)
 
where does it say united torres wanted torres link plz :)

also cannot think of one spanish player since i have started watching football in man united
 
Dont have time to search for the link but fergie himself said he wanted to sign torres but was put off by his signing fee because he was not sure about his finnishing(Torres had never scored 20 goals in la Liga)...google it if you dont believe me. Gerard Pique is spanish.
 
Oh btw Gerard Pique is a defender that united signed from Barcelonas youth team. Dont expect many of uniteds fans to know that though:)

TBH, even though we didn't win anything this season, it was a step in the right direction and if we'd turned a few of those draws into wins, then it would have been a whole different ball game.

Something interesting is that since Skirtel joined us we've ammased more points that any other team, so next season with Agger back we should be in a better position to defend a bit higher up and actually play the ball out of defence as opposed to hoofing it upfield. Carra is great, but his distribution sucks..

Anyhoo, glad to see a Pool thread finally :D
 
Thats so true, we drew too many unessesary games.The season was disapointing but there we good signs as you've said Skrtel has been amazing!The guy is sollid as a rock at the back.Him and Agger at the back will be the future CB pairing for us. Carra is a great player but very limited in many ways.
Imagine how different it could have been if Agger wasnt injured...Skrtel has shown how important the centre backs can be.
 
At the end of the day it's all IF's, BUT's and Maybe's :(

At least we have the makings of a very strong defence (Carra, Agger, Skrtel) on paper - who knows how Agger and Skrtel will play together?

Finally got ourselves a proper goal scorer which we haven't had since Owens first few seasons, now just for some decent quality on the wings (move Babel back into the center with Torres) and we should be sorted.

Ultimately it's a psychological issue though. You have to believe you can win at anytime in any situation no matter whats happening.
 
Who's going to replace Crouch? If Babel moves in as a striker who's going to full that left hand side? We'll still need a target man. Huntelaar perhaps
 
It feels like we have that belief when it comes to the CL but not in the premiership.Hope that changes next season.
Word on the street is that Babel will be given a chance up front next season,i think with him and torres we have two top class strikers, will have to see if they can link up together though.
Im hoping we can sign Barry and Bentley because our current wingers just aynt good enough.
Pepe picked up the golden glove award for keeping the most cleansheets(AGAIN):)
 
I think Arsenal were first interested in Torres a few years back, then Ferguson, but Rafa was clever enough to sign him. Torres no doubt is a future legend.

BTW, majority of MU supporters know that Pique was signed from Barcelona, dont get big headed about small things like that.
 
Theres a chance that Nemeth may be promoted to the 1st team next season,he would replace the big guy.Crouch only started 5 or 6 league games anyways.He wont be a big loss imo
 
I was just messing with killaboob catch21,because he said he has never seen a spanish player playing for united but im not even a united fan and ive seen pique playing 3 or 4 times for you guys.
Torres has said that Arsenal,United and Chelsea have tried to sign him but he would only leave Athletico for Liverpool.His friends also support liverpool.Im just happy you guys didnt get him,him,rooney and ronaldo in the same team would be unstoppable.
 
I'd be happy to see Bentley come in, the few games I've seen him play he's looked fairly good. Barry I'm not so moist about, but I'm not going to get all uppity about it like some on other LFC forums..

By all account Nemeth is pretty good, but the reserves are a different kettle of fish to the league. Once Babel finds his shooting boots he'd be awesome blasting through the middle while Torres does what he does best.

Anyone notice his goal against Spurs is almost identical to his season opener against Chavski? Weird... :D

Problem is all 3 are so similar. Except Babel likes to drop off. Who's going to hold the ball up or be a threat in the air when we need to change tactics? Torres is good but that'll wasting his best qualities
