If only we had signed Petrov and Santa Cruz @ the start of the season for around 8mill things would have been very different........

well i think torres and babel were better signings. babel will rock the premier league next season. hes done better in his first season than ronaldo.plus he just turned 21

Nando, certainly.. Not so sure about Babel being better than Ronaldo first season out, but once he gets his sights sorted out (i.e shots that hit more often than not), he's going to be awesome.

A screamer of a shot and, unlike Gerrard, he doesn't 'wind' it up, it just snaps out of no where. I like his physical presence, kind of like Heskey, but with the major difference that Babel actually plays football instead of wanting to be a DJ (remember Heskey's goal celebration earphone thingy?) :D

I'd prefer to see Babel play more central than wide, running at defenders rather than across them.

Something I'd also like to see next season is Gerard stop taking corners, drop into the umbrella and pick up the balls headed out of the defense and blast them back in, instead of producing endless easy balls to the defenders.

Well I must confess that I'm a bandwagoneer..

I remember it well, 1984 Liverpool/Roma wobbly knees and all that :D

TBH winning the league would be a double edged sword, what with increased fair weather support, though I'm not like those types on the kop who think that all OOT's should be shot on sight! :D

neah that doesnt qualify you as a bandwagoneer.

Totally agree, i dont know why Stevie takes corners, we hardly ever score from them. xabi will be much better option IMO.
I hope that the rumours about Babel is true and that he will be playing upfront next season. That boy can Moer a ball!!Reminds me of Jimmy Flooyd hasselbank. I think he has all the qualitys of a great striker, but he's not really suited for playing as a winger.

Im guilty aswell...have been a supporter since 95-96-ish:D
I was born a year after 1984:)
I dont think all of the guys on the kop is like that, it's mostly only the RTK guys.

Strangely enough the reason I remember the 84 final was because it ran to extra time and I was waiting to watch 'The Guns of Navarone' on telly afterwards :D, so spent the time watching footy and playing with my Scaletrix (TR7 edition with curved berms :D )

I really wish the team these days would revert to the pass and move of the 80's, though the last season or so they are getting there..

:D

Shame that Risse never really recovered his form from a few seasons ago :(

Was just watching some youtube vids of Kenny etc and I think all new signings (and everyone else apart from Carra) should be made to watch hours of Pool footage from the 70/80's to see how things should be done. Some of Dalglish's goals are just insane...

mind posting the youtube link?:)
I think only Dagger, Alonso, Gerrard, Mascherano, Skrtel, Babel and Torres are capable of playing that pass and move type of football...and thats why we are struggling.

Very funny! But despite his actual footballing abilities if you cut JAR open he would bleed Liverpool RED. He's been a valuable servant to our club. Reminds me of John O'**** that plays for you

Looking at that line up there, thats the almost established spine with two defenders, three midfielders (four if you count Babel) and Nando, so really aside from Carra, you only need one more skillzor player and you're set :D
