Having a working prototype of ANYTHING, no matter how amazing does not mean you'll see it in all the shops the next day.
Setting up one factory alone is insanely complicated and can easily take a couple of years.
Nevermind that the way in which you made the proto is likely not mass manufacture ready, which can also take a couple of years to figure out

So all these wonderful prototypes will never see the light of day regardless. I'm not saying I blame the inventors, it is just the way things work. I bet if we lived in a perfect world we would be 100 years further than what we are today. But it ain't perfect :p

If they didn't, they would've found limitless energy and that would be mind blowing/answer to all of the worlds problems/profitable.

Ye, I know. The point was that whatever they are using to generate power to recharge it must be renewable or environment friendly as well. If they're still using coal power plants and burning fossil fuels then having this battery in your car would actually increase pollution. This is since energy is lost when transferring it from one medium to the other. Burning fuel in our cars and generating the power on the go, like we currently do, would still be better.
