Hi all,

I am looking into getting a lexus, but when i have been reading about how expensive it can get for the service, and maintenance I have been told by my colleagues that I will either need to take out a second bond if a buy an older car and it gives issues, or ill need to sell an arm and a leg to keep up with repairs.

but they look so nice, and ive read so many positive things about Lexus....so i think my wife might still find me attractive without limbs!

any thoughts on Lexus!

I am still rolling with my 2003 IS200 Straight i6 first Gen just keep maintaining and servicing it that's a must think close to 300k mileage clocked , But its still going strong. Make sure you get the full vehicle history before acquisition.

Is there any point to the straight 6 on a 2l engine? Any benefits?

I am actually super keen on an old IS 250, will 100% consider one after doing my DD.

Can't go wrong, friend bought a 2012 one with 105k km on the clock in 2015, kept it for 9 years up to 290k and biggest issue he had was two CV joints (apart from usual services offcourse). Only reason he sold it as he bought a newer model from a friend

I always recommend an older Lexus to people. I have a 2013 GS250 (192k km with zero issues so far) and recently went through an exercise of finding a newer car for my wife. Test drove a lot of newer cars but nothing came close to the GS, we eventually found her a 3yo Mazda CX-5 but honestly I'd still pick up the Lexus keys for a long trip probably 8/10 times.
