Yeah... 4 meg line .. thumbs up to Afrihost. Been trying to get them to fix it for a few days now.

My problem is that the prices on Telkom's side has changed for the ADSL Line but not on Afrihost's.

I am on 1Mbps Business Bundle. Now I am happy, more than happy, to pay the extra bit for the 2Mbps Uncapped DATA portion of the bundle but it kills me that I cannot request that my ADSL line gets bumped to 2Mbps but with the new pricing. The AH rep that just helped me on the phone told me that only once Telkom has finished with the entire network upgrade, only then will AH adjust the ADSL line pricing. This makes no sense at all.

We are definitely going to pass on the savings on line prices, but if you're pre-empting your area upgrade by bumping up your line now - then its actually going onto the new product waiting for upgrading so it causes some confusion. Telkom have a freeze on all upgrades right now anyway - and once it's over we'll only be able to work with the new products (whether your actual line has been upgraded or not).

We went through a similar situation last year with the last round of upgrades - the sooner that Telkom finishes the upgrades, the sooner it will all make sense again

We've got our provisional capacity which has gone line across the country, however we're still seeing higher shaping than what we'd like in the North region. Throughput and latency have been awesome though, and we are seeing the shaping starting to ease a bit earlier.

The rest of our capacity is on it's way though!
