Thunderbird keeps timing out

Most emails I'm trying to send today with Mweb keep timing out in thunderbird.
My server settings and port settings are correct - (25 for outgoing and 110 for incoming)
I increased the timeout settings but still no luck.
This happens spordically even with small emails.

What could be the problem?
 
Dude it is mweb, when i was with mweb i had the exact same problem. I thought it was thunderbird but now that i am with openweb i never have the issue, it's been a month and half since i left mweb and it has not happened once.
 
Report the problem to Mweb and let them know which ports.

EDIT: I have Tweeted Mweb Guy about this thread.

Use port 587 for smtp (outgoing mail). I think Mweb blocked port 25 to prevent spam.

I think its ridiculous that the call centre guy I called today - Tyron couldn't tell me this. He confirmed the old port numbers. He said the problem was probably my mailbox in Thunderbird being corrupt!
What cr@p support from Mweb

Btw Thanx people will test at work and see if it helps

Mweb Guy I changed setting to port 587 but I get an error for that port.

587 gave me an error as well. Mweb couldn't fix it in the 8 months i was with them i doubt they will fix it now. They did give me some other settings to use but said i could not use permanently so i was like :confused: and wondered why they gave it to me them.

It's like putting sand on a pile of dog shyte in your living room, it ain't removing the problem is it?
