Tim should apologize for ML battery life

My MBP5,3 has been reduced to around 2 hours battery life. I had never really measured before but I am guessing at least 5 hours was feasible.

Quite frankly this is worse than the maps issue.
 
My MacBookPro 8,1 has good battery life under 10.8. :confused:
 
He should be made to wear a dog collar and walk on all fours for this outrage. A curse on his descendants to 1000 generations.

Have you updated to the latest release? Is this 2 hour battery life what you are experiencing from full charge to dead or what the battery timer is reporting.

I just spoke to Tim, he said he apologizes for the battery life. He said that there are 0 cases where hardware ever starts getting faulty and that this tarnishes the name of the entire industry, not just Apple.

(did you note my sarcasm? Or do I have to explain it to you)
 
The MBP5,3 is a mid-2009 model - might be time to have the battery replaced of you're a heavy battery user. What's the battery health?
 
Upgrade to 10.8.2 and it should be better than ever. This from a 2009 MBP 13". Can't wait till next year to pick up a 13" rMBP. This one is starting to get a bit slow and I don't feel like doing a wipe and reinstall. Will do it when my mom inherits it next year I guess.

Reduced from an unmeasured amount to 2 hours? Guessing 5 hours? I'm guessing my MacBook was 47 hours before updating to Mountain Lion. Now it's much less. I demand an apology from Tim. Maybe even 2 apologies and a free iPhone 5.

Just seen the supplement to 10.8.2. Hopefully it improves mine. The numbers below were on 10.8.2

except it is an issue that seems to afflict many and it started when people changed from lion to mountain lion.

coconut battery shows the battery is at 73%. The thing is though there is a significant change in battery life between when I was running Lion and the change to Mountain Lion.
 
i'll test properly today but there did seem to be an improvement. though that could well have been a placebo.
 
I think there is better battery life with the new patch. Got close to 3h using it more heavily than compared to the stats I posted earlier.
 
On my mid 2010 MBP 13" I can use my laptop for almost 4 hours on Mountain Lion

Its usable for 9.5 hours on Snow Leopard that I have gone back to.

I only do email on the MBP so it cant be caused by any buggy/unsupported 3rd party stuff.

Apple shouldnt appologise. They should fix it.

**Cassady - My battery is down 8% after 2.4 years. Maybe yours is faulty.
