Time for an SUV, what to pick

GWM? okayish looking SUV,
IX35, nice looking ,
Ford Territory ST is a beast on the road, but i dont think up to par on the consumption variable, still worth a look.

bwana - you get a diesel or petrol captiva? How has the interior held up over time? I am very wary of american cars (bad handling and plastic insides)

Mate of mine has one, also very in love with his. Seriously concider the Ecosport. They awesome ;)

Erm... because I endeavour to give reasonable advice? A 2000 X5 is as unreasonable a suggestion as the EcoSport, which is a clown car compared to most anything available on the 2nd-hand market for similar money, and one hardly needs to go ancient.
 
Anything from Audi/BMW/Merc will be out of motorplan and cost a fortune to maintain and repair.

Tell the wife to give you an extra R50k towards something decent if she's fussy ;)

FL2 - best softroader money can buy. Also the most reliable LR in the market.

I would much rather buy a BRAND NEW Ecosport as oppsed to a Second hand anything in that Budget. That is however just me. The Sportage is a nice car but have someone at work who is complaining endlessly about his. He drives the V6 Auto Sportage. Name them, Quasqua, Sportage, Captiva, X1, X3 and and and I personally would buy the Ecosport new instead. Yes I agree if he has 3 kids and 2 dogs with a baby on the way to get a massive SUV.

Very good drive and safe as well.

:D Girlfriend has the Ecosport 1L petrol awesome little thing for around town driving and short journeys (under 100km) after that it does get a bit uncomfortable, boot is really small too. Sportage V6 petrol is the old shape ? I have the 2l diesel AWD and i don't have a single complaint really good vehicle and KIA love adding things for free when you buy one.

Diesel. Interior is in very good condition. We looked at a lot of SUVs but the boot space is what won me over - apart from the wife and kids I've got two great danes so space is kinda important.

FWIW the Captiva is manufactured by Daewoo.
