Time for the snip for me... the wife and i had the chat this morning...

How long is recovery from it?

its different for every individual. did it the Thursday. back at work the Monday. stitches was over a week. never realized how my range of movement is affected by that area. totally fine would say 2 to 3 weeks. no heavy lifting though. might fsuck something up.

if your work allows it. take the week. don't plan to do stuff. just lay there. hope your wife isn't the type that gets pi$$ed if you sitting and doing nothing. but take it easy. but you would be the best judge.

monitor the stitches as well. I put on some red stuff. cant remember the name now (mercurochrome - not sure on spelling). funny thing is now I wear a mixture of underpants and boxers. before it was just boxers. but during the recovery I bought underpants to keep the boys in one spot. with boxers I had some pain because the position always changed. so during the night the underpants helped a lot.

I have a friends whose hubby went cycling etc... and guess what happened... child number 3! Nottaf#ck do i want that to happen!

I work from home... on a laptop... so taking it easy shouldn't be a problem :-) I just need to do it before the 3 yr old is on school holidays... and i think a Thurs or Wed would be good.

Thanks for the advice... my bro just texted him "his guy" who did his op and all his buddies... and none of them had complications... so now i just have to make the call...

Do you really think a vasectomy is castration?

Vasectomy is a no brainer for me once she's popped out the required number of kids. A bit of discomfort for a week at most but no condoms, no contraceptives for her to screw her body up and no risk of pregnancy. Would sign up now if I didn't wanna make kids the traditional way.

They cut the "pipe" that carries the sperm. Nothing else changes. Same hormones, same production - sperm just can't get out.
 
I can see the pro's of this, but goood gosh golly moses I am not prepared for this yet... Not sure if I want kids thou... Thw thought of bringing a little me up in this sick world is still Keeping me from it.

a female urologist did mine. did a good job. no hatchet jobs! there is nothing as surreal as having a conversation with a woman while she is cupping your nuts. I thought about my answers thoroughly. lol.

Make sure you get a good Dr too.

I went in, fired up my PSP and starting jamming. Nurse tapes your nana to your bladder, and Dr gets to work. Tiny little incision.
When the Dr was done, I asked him to let my finish off my game first, then hopped off the table.

I was lucky enough to not suffer anything at all. Had a slight tenderness after a few days that only lasted a day or two. Otherwise no signs or symptoms that I had had anything done. Took a week off anyway just to chill - in case.

The benefits are enormous. Imagine banging away with no need for contraceptives or pulling out - ever.
