Time to be less app-happy

It's the same guy who managed to spend a whopping 30 minutes without his phone.

He uses Instagram... thats never a good thing to admit Hilton..

Did you enjoy taking a hipster picture of your breakfast this morning?

Surprised myBB didn't post it. They seem to post everything Hilton does :p

Wow "One hundred and thirty five" not "One hundred and thirty three" or "One hundred thirty five and a half" Or even "0n1 7undred 71rty f1ve" I am so shocked that any one over the age of 12 could actually had "One hundred and thirty five", I need to take a seat for a few minutes... .... ... I mean really "One hundred and thirty five" apps, and all of them on one device, its truly unbelievable.

Fluff useless article, that really shouldnt be on MyBB where every one knows how to properly use a smartphone and maintain it, I think it would have been better suited in the "You" or "Huis Genoot"

I don't know about you but I was enlightened to learn that Hilton Tarrant who ONCE had an iPhone 4S which now serves time as a heavy iPod Touch; NOW has an iPhone 5 and an iPad Mini. So no wonder he's qualified to tell us how few apps we really need to be happy.

Um, somebody needs to show him how to uninstall apps. Then we could have all avoided this silly article.

I have 172 apps..(guess this will start a d!ck waving haha) but it would be hard to remove a few of them as they have particular uses even if used infrequently. Of course i have about 30 apps i use on a daily basis but yah..

2ndly after reading the article i felt like my iPhone 4S was old albeit only a year old(year and a bit since release), it's weird how fast tech moves

I am clocking just over 200 apps. Nice to have lots of memory cause I am too lazy to clean up.

Pretty darned sure I read an article almost identical to this a while ago on another website.

I think the article should not have been posted in the tech news because the OP just shared his own opinion on such an everyday thing as application management. It would have been more news worthy if he had not just included his own views.

Please list them. I can't imagine needing to run 30 in one day.

I thought the exact same thing. Checking my phone I reckon I run the following daily:

Plume - Twitter app
Facebook
Whatsapp
GMail app
Quickpic (a bit of a cheat being listed as the phone does have a built in gallery app but I prefer this)
Tapatalk
Weather Services Pro AND WindGuru AND Accuweather (I like to check a few different ones to get the "average")

I do not count the camera, email, calendar apps and the like as those are not loaded onto my phone but come with it. Ones I do not actively use every day but they run constantly and I look at the widgets/use them in the background:

Onova Count
Phone Usage
Llama
A number of security apps (Where'sMyDroid, Lookout, Plan B, AndroidLost)

Others used very frequenty but not daily (at least a few times a week):

Sygic Voice-guided GPS Navigation
Endomondo
Handy Safe (password storage)
Office Calculator Pro (again a bit of a cheat as there is a built in calculator)
Wifi Manager
ES File Explorer

I then go through phases with other reading/passing the time apps. There will usually be the game of the moment which gets played when there is some spare time or I need a break. Then there is Zinio, Flipboard, Moon+ Reader, Pulse, World Newspapers....

30 is a big number but when you actually start counting the used apps do add up.
