Hey all, I really want your help. Last year our clock machine at work broke, so we had to buy a new one. I opt for a fingerprint type(which gives me endless problems btw). The thing is, it has really crap software that goes with it. And best of all, the other day I phoned the people to come help us with the software again, the close down, so there's no way in hell we are going to get this right now.

So I wondered if anyone know of a user friendly and good timekeeping software, which will work with the fingerprint reader.

What we need is the following:

1: we must be able to calculate overtime on a weekly basis. Our schedule is flexible, so daily overtime aren't possible,
it must be weekly.
2: We must be able to edit public holidays so that time is automatically added to the weekly hours worked.
3: what will be a plus, is if we can also edit annual, sick, and family responsibility leave, to keep track.
4: As said, our schedule is flexible, but most of the employees have a fixed schedule they must stick to. I want to
be able to "give" every one a schedule on the software, so we can easily track late comers.
5: I want to be able to generate reports on weekly overtime, late coming.

And that is what we need, so not really a very difficult situation. Our current software, which is Fingertech, is not stable, it doesn't make sense all the rituals we need to go through just to add an employee, and overall it is not very user friendly. I've tried online help on the software, but it wasn't really much help. It is every month end a head ache to get all the clocking reports done.

We dont need free software, we will pay for it, as long as we can just test it out before hand.

Any help will be much appreciated.

I'm busy downloading it. Do you use it? It looks promising, I cant find any info regarding if it will work with a biometric scanner, or how the clockings can be downloaded. Will see.

Thanks

We used to use Orange but moved away from it as the older versions were not very good. They have done a lot of development since then and I believe it's pretty good these days. You have to pay for those extras though but would definitely recommend that you take a look.

I will, but I cant seem to find where I can import from a biometric scanner. No settings on that no where. I'm at home now, but I will download data from the scanner tomorrow, and try importing it tomorrow night. Then see what happens.

We use Replicon timekeeping software. See if it helps you...

As far as I had been using it, I believe Replicon can fulfill all your requirements. Check below:

1: we must be able to calculate overtime on a weekly basis. Our schedule is flexible, so daily overtime aren't possible,
it must be weekly. - This is available on every time tracking tool, moreover timesheet compliance is becoming a great concern
2: We must be able to edit public holidays so that time is automatically added to the weekly hours worked. It does come with all holidays and at the same time you can edit them too
3: what will be a plus, is if we can also edit annual, sick, and family responsibility leave, to keep track. It does comply with Government rules and give leaves accordingly, which can be edited
4: As said, our schedule is flexible, but most of the employees have a fixed schedule they must stick to. I want to
be able to "give" every one a schedule on the software, so we can easily track late comers. This is possible on all time tracking tools
5: I want to be able to generate reports on weekly overtime, late coming. Reporting is great with Replicon

Despite of all the suggestions here, maybe you should read this article about why most time and attendance is flawed
I know every software has flaws and strengths but if you will spend time to differentiate its features then you will really find out which one is best for your business.
