Timing to Purchase a New Iphone?

Hello!

I am VERY strapped for cash and really need to upgrade my iPhone. There are specific work-related reasons for wanting/needing an iPhone specifically. I currently have an iPhone 8 16GB.

Does anyone know or have an idea as to when it is best to buy a newer model? Not the latest.

I have been told that sometimes after a new release in SA the prices of the previous model drop? Although not massively, due to the demand still being there. Is it usually just before or after? A rough estimate of timing or advice would be appreciated?

Buy a second hand iPhone off carbonite.co.za

Sometimes you even find devices which are sealed in the box for great prices. Bought my wife's iPhone 12 off carbonite sealed in the box for 11.5k two weeks ago AND I sold her iPhone 8 on carbonite as well.

I'm very afraid of buying second-hand only due to the safety aspect. But will check them out, thank you. How much did you manage to sell her phone for?
 
If you want one cheap, buy the 2020 SE. Even after the next-gen come out later this year, the 12s aren’t going to drop to SE prices.

Thought as much :( I really only need to improve my phone camera's quality more so than anything else.

I sold her phone for 3k but it had an issue where the proximity sensor and light sensor stopped working a while back so let it go for cheaper. That being said it was a 256 GB version.

Carbonite is safe if you know how to use it. People with more than 5 sales with 100% feedback are legit. You just need to take the time to read the feedback and ratings to make sure they are legit etc. Read the rules and the safe buying guide it will tell you all you need to know.

Never heard of them before so will check the site out. I truly, truly appreciate the advice and tips. Worried about trying to sell it though as my entire house burnt down, so lost everything. Including the box and those things which make people more trusting. My phone is fine and has no issues just am in a position that requires a better quality camera on my phone.

Well that is the thing about Carbonite you can always put those details in your post. I find it best to be 100% honest anyway. When I sold my wife's phone I was open about the sensors which weren't working and the battery life etc. I have sold phones without boxes and accessories etc in the past. Any way check it out.

Okay realised it's 64GB... But I still much smaller than your wife's size. Anyway busy looking through the site now! Have an awesome rest of your day! Thanks again
 
What is your budget? Maybe look into getting an iPhone XR or iPhone 11, both those are known for having decent cameras and pretty good battery life.
