Tips about the Samsung Galaxy S3

More recommendations

Another good case for this phone is the body glove flipcase as sold by CellC for R199, since it also has a soft inner and protects both the back and front of the phone plus can be converted as a stand for watching movies. I also recommend the body glove screen protector since it has a matte finish and anti-glare.

An excellent music player to use is TTPod and for watching movies I use MX Player. Download a program like Pocket to save all the online articles that you want to read at a later time when offline and I use ES File Explorer to access shared files and folders over a wireless network and AirDroid is a good alternative to Kies Air for copying files using a wireless network since you connect to your phone using any preferred browser can copy files to and from phone among other things.

There is so much more things that you can do with this phone but the best is to explore some of the apps mentioned by other forum members first and then read up further on reviews on android specific forums as these are the best resources out there for any new android user. I am still learning new things every day.

I have to admit that the original S3 thread has become a little disjointed as there are a lot of discussions in their now relating to custom ROMs, rooting and the like. It should have been split very early into standard SGS3 and a Custom SGS3 threads. I like to follow what is being said but have little interest in rooting.

+1
Reading that thread makes my head hurt, lol, I'm not interested in Rooting and custom ROMs, happy with my GS3 the way it is, just interested in tips on apps, games and other content.

Was getting frustrated with the motion setting that takes a screenshot when you wipe the screen. (screen gets dirty, I wipe it and it takes a screen shot every time )

Turned it off now, holding power button + home is another way to take a screen shot.
