Tips to Boost your eBucks

I can see my earn under "How I got this" now for all categories. Too lazy to work it out though but it looks similar to last month and level 5.

Just having a bright spark moment related to the latest Mybb article about FNB Connect.

Thus 15% on airtime,+ 40% on ebucks = 400 ebucks + R15 per R100 = R66.67 in 40% discounted vouchers plus R15 = R81.67

hmmmmmm could be very tempting - even if it is cell-c crappy network

You underestimate how crappy and unusable it is.

Looks like I've been screwed by not sticking between 10 and 90% of my credit limit. Is there a way that I can trace it to try and pinpoint why not?

PS. I want to see for myself and not take their word for it :)
Download as CSV your transaction data on your ccard and follow what the running balance is day by day.

Yea CellC has issues... Though 95% of the time I'm covered. And so is my mrs. And with my mrs running 1000-1200 a month on her cellphone. The 40% back in ebucks may be pretty cool! This would however mean that I'd have to take on her cellphone bill. Something I'm nervous about doing :-)
(Why does she need to call her mom so much!?!?!?!!!)

To talk about you, obviously!

Just remember: The amount on which you earn eBucks is limited to a total monthly rand spend (on qualifying FNB Connect contracts and/or prepaid airtime purchases only) of R625, i.e. a maximum of 2500 eBucks on FNB Connect spending.

New ebucks rules now online, effective 1 July. The Gold rules looks quite different, and make it more difficult. I'd go down from 21500 RL points to 20500 if I make only slight changes, and now to 15500 if I make no changes at all to the current banking practices.

For instance, now you 4000 points for 100% of swipes being with your credit card. I currently use the cheque card to withdraw Cash@till - I'll need to change that, thereby missing out on the 1500 points (cash@till has reduced from 4000 points to 1500).

The eB earning rules don't seem to have changed significantly. There are some changes though. Pre-paid electricity has disappeared from the eB earnings. :wtf:

I'm just going to do what I currently do, and see if there's anything that I need to change. I think everyone is just stressing for nothing - I'm sure that one month at L3 or L4 isn't going to hurt. Also don't know how Cash@Till is going to be affected, but I'll find out soon enough...

I'd lose out on about eB 10000 if I did nothing - two thirds my monthly earn. I need to ensure I know the new rules quickly.

"100% of your total monthly spend is on your FNB Gold Credit card (*excludes EFT's and transfers)." (4000 RL points)

Do the following count as spend:
FNB online airtime purchases
Debit orders
online purchases
recurring online purchases (Unblock Us, etc)
cash@till

This is going to be very problematic to try and change everything over to the credit card. There'll always be some transaction that slips through. Not happy:cry:

They do that for some reason, like making money off people who don't care much about ebucks. You should only care about the ebucks criteria. If you don't meet the minimum monthly deposits for that, you end up paying higher fees and get no ebucks.

I know someone that just did that :/

Can he transfer from his credit card into the cheque card once a month to hit the deposit criteria - then transfer back?

That's seen as a transfer and not a deposit...

If I don't do any ATM transactions and no cash @till, will I get the 4000 points or only the 1000 points?

I agree ... one thing I know ... cash@tills isn't seen as spending. My banker told me to relax (so that is what I am going to do).

but I agree Mike ... according to my points before and after the new rules, I am 1K points up to 19 000 points (and I am sticking with what I am doing every month.)

The only new thing for me is, doing a transaction via my phone monthly

Regarding the 4000 points for only using your CC.

My routine are:

1) Draw R100 a month via cash@tills
2) Spend only via CC (Shopping / Online / Petrol etc)
3) Debit orders goes off as usual
4) Keep my cheque balance at R15k a month
