I'm using 7 day notice and Share Saver. Savings pocket was only useful for the points before, now it's useless.

The interest earned on a proper investment account far outweighs a few points. It's a no brainer that you shouldn't be investing 15k into a savings pocket. I'll keep the bank your change though, that's useful...
What are the returns like on share saver?

Under the new rules is share saver applicable as an investment option? I only see share investor and share builder on the platinum account.

On my online banking profile it shows up under the investments section, so I'm guessing it has to be...

OK, will have a look at that...am fed up of below inflation growth at this point

Check the Satrix thread, I think it was Hamster who reported 12% growth with Share Saver over the past year since he opened his account. I only opened mine this month so it's showing a 10% loss, but it needs time...

Really bad month to start. :p

With potential negative returns for a calendar month one may need to deposit more than 10K into it, otherwise no reward points are received for that particular month?

Have an FNB Investment with a minimum balance of:
R10 000 - R49 999 1500
R50 000 or more 2500

I also reported there, I started a year ago on Share Saver. I just checked, have a overall growth of 18% (RMB MID Cap 3% up and RMB top 40 20% up) in one year.
MID Cap is now R6.54 a share and RMB top 40 is R46.57 per share.

EDIT: A few months ago, my MID Cap was at -8%. So it's recovering.

Apologies, I have been following it almost religiously but missed out the last 2 pages (cached data?). I like the new rules - it is definitely easier to up your level.

If you have a Gold account.
If you have a Platinum account (especially with no credit card) it's much, much harder

Well, that's going to differ from person to person. To me it seems easier on Platinum, but that is because I have a credit card and do all my banking with FNB anyways.

The beauty of the new system is the ability to catch up within one month, instead of a 6 month process waiting for the points to accumulate.

Probably. I opened the account and transferred 5k into it, and then made the stupid mistake of instructing them to buy on the next trading day which means I have to pay additional fees. Transferred another 10k into it and now instructed them to buy on the first trading day of the month. Also have a monthly scheduled transfer of 2k, so I think it should grow nicely within the next few years...

TBH the eBucks points are a bonus. Your potential returns far outweigh any eBucks points that you might earn anyway, but it's cool that your investment accounts now count towards your eBucks earn level...

I'm thinking of moving my banking back to FNB because of these changes. As long as it gets me more money at the end of the day, I'm happy.

Only problem is that I hate Checkers!

Going to be interesting to see what I can get it to...

Should easily be able to hold level 3 I reckon.

Thing is that considering I already get around R300 per month back on my discovery card, if I don't get to level 5 with FNB, I don't think it would be worth it.

If I switch to FNB, I have to pay about R100 extra per month in banking fees. So that offsets the saving.

On the plus side, on level 5, uncapped ADSL is free, which is a R400 saving per month, plus return from fuel and purchases etc. Downside is that I would then be required to shop at Checkers to get maximum benefit.

Quick question - I have a platinum Cheque account and gold credit card. Are points added up to allocate my reward level? Or will it work like how it does currently where the higher level held on a product (between platinum and gold) determines your reward level?

Thanks
